Rune by Gathering of Developers is a great game that would be a nice addition to your stable. I have a working copy but I would be interested in anything else they have done. Since they are defunct they would probably be glad to get some sales here.
Hey, Rune certainly is a great game would like to see it on the site myself. Please use the wishlist and vote on the games you would like to see on gog.

Have you played Severance Blade of Darkness? It's alot like Rune and another great game.
the viking game right?
that is so weird...i played it about a week ago again after i installed it after a long time!
AWESOME FUCKING GAME! lol
Bof, I've tried it years ago. Nothing special imho, I always preferred Severance for its savage dismembering capabilities :-D
Severance was fun, but one thing stopped me from buying it: the inability to parry attacks with your sword killed the feeling for me.
OTOH I think I'll just get Dark Messiah, since the swordplay in it seems decent.
How does Rune hold up in terms of swordplay? I tried it on my PC some years ago, but it refused to run without crashing.
-edit-
Never mind, I just tried the demo on my laptop. Swordplay pales in comparison to Die by the Sword, but then again, what doesn't?

What?!? Most of the fun for me is parrying and than striking back with some special sword-technique. You definitely CAN parry with your sword in Severance, at least with the mighty barbarian I've played until now :-P
Rune was a blast to play, especially multiplayer. I always enjoyed biting off the head of a reptile to replenish my health haha!
I used to have Blade of Darkness, but the controls prevented me from playing it. I don't know what it was, but I just could not get into the control scheme. Seemed like an awesome game too.
Another game I've never heard of... but then, I didn't really start paying attention to gaming media until a few years ago. Based on the wikipedia article, Rune sounds fairly interesting. I'll put a vote on the Wishlist...

Yeh you can with barbarian, but then again that's because he can't use the shield. It's a pity the warrior cannot parry.

I loved the fact you could throw your weapons about in Rune mulitplayer, decapiating someone with your battle axe with a lucky shot was awesome and funny.
Are the controls for Blade of Darkness really that much different then Rune? I've only played Rune on the PS2 where as I played Blade of Darkness on PC so have no clue myself. It's really worth trying to get into the controls though the game is brilliant and brutal.
