Is there any way that I can connect both my pc and my ps3 to the net while not having a router? I tried doing an adhoc with my wireless adapter but my ps3 would never see it.

Yes, configure your PC to enable routing and use it as a router. The easy way is to just do a Google or Youtube search for how to configure Windows to act as a router, or search for "Internet Sharing". You'll need to have at least 2 network interfaces, one for the Internet and one for the LAN segment (wired or wireless). If you're doing it all wireless you'll probably have to search for how to get Windows to act like a WAP also. I've never done any of this in Windows personally, just in Linux, but the functionality should be all there in WIndows also, and if not, I'm sure there is likely addon software to fill in any missing bits (ie: Dibbler is probably needed).

If you were using a Linux based system, you could just connect the PC first, then enable DHCP and might have to add a gateway...

But yes without a router you will need a second ethernet port. You might need a modified ethernet cable, called a null-modem cable I think. If you don't have high speeds you're using the PS3 with, you might get away with an old ethernet repeater hub at 10Mbits (more than enough for internet) instead. (They fell out of favor due to collisions, but work well for small networks).

Shit. Any way of using my computer as an access point? I have a wireless adapter, and have the pc hard wired to the modem?
