DraculaMarth: The only rotoscoped thing that comes to mind is the recent anime Aku no Hana, and that's a terrible show. Sorry I couldn't help out

Elmofongo: Well I just watched half of the first episode and already I am intrigued, what is wrong with this show, I already read the summary and it not alienated me that much.
Maybe it's personal taste, but I found it to be too pretentious for me

Then again, I don't like most anime

Elmofongo: That documentary I am eyeing for while, but its difficult to find, and I do not want to pirate it because I don't trust Pirate Bay
Mhm. I can get it for around £6 including shipping here. Would buy / mail over in exchange for something from GOG - if Region 2 DVDs are any use for you and English subtitles are ok.

Mnemon: The absolutely wonderful film Waltz with Bashir, really a must see.
I can't agree more. It has a great storytelling and punchline.

Czech rotoscopic movie Alois Nebel won critical acclaim. It's based on a comics and it touches WW2 topic afaik. I plan to watch it myself after reading the original trilogy.

You can give Renaissance (2006) a try too. it's a futuristic French movie. The story is mediocre but it's interesting to watch.

Elmofongo: Scanner Darkly just looks like they just painted over everything digitally, similar to most things I see in Deviantart like this:

Erm, isn't that exactly what rotoscoping is???
You can also check the music video from "Queens of the stone age-go with the flow".

Gulliver's Travels (1939), one of the first animation to use rotoscoping and still worth watching imo.

Rotoscoping really took off in the 1940's so you want to look in that era as well, there are also some Superman (1941) animations which I think use rotoscoping, but I'm not sure as it has been too long ago since I last saw them.

Heavy Metal (1981) shouldn't be missing from the list too.

Ok than, let me rephrase that, I ilke the style of Rotoscoping they used in American Pop, Fire and Ice, and Aku no Hana better than what scanner darkly is.
