I just read the cast list for the new RoboCop... there's a lot of Arabic/Persian characters and "Iranian terrorist" roles in there.

Im starting to have a bit more faith that this remake "could" be good.

I used to think like that. Then I saw Highlander: The Source.

Re: the Robo trailer - that actually didn't horrify me as much as I expected it to. A few of the shots (such as Robo staring at his hands) had some actual feeling in them. And given that the black armor was picked out by some snotty OCP exec type to "make him look more tactical", it might actually be self-conscious satire. In the original film, Murphy takes off his helmet to symbolize that he is reclaiming his own identity; maybe in this one, he'll ditch the black paint job.

I'm still very, very skeptical, and there are other things (such as Murphy apparently retaining his memories and identity from the get-go) that I'm not wild about, but I'm no longer absolutely 100% certain that the film will suck.

I'll admit I haven't seen it. However, when I say the "worst sequel", I don't mean "the worst movie that happened to be a sequel to another movie", but rather "the sequel which was worst compared to the movie before it". In other words, it matters which movie the sequel came after. Given that Highlander: The Source was the sequel to Highlander: Endgame (which admittedly I also haven't seen, but I've read about it), I cannot believe that it was as much a step down in quality from it's predecessor as Highlander 2 was from Highlander.

Then do yourself a favor and keep not having watched indiana jones 4.

That is unfortunately too late. Although Indiana Jones 4 is nowhere near as bad a sequel as Highlander 2.

First that abysmal Total Recall remake, and on the horizon we have a PG-13 Starship Troopers remake. This one though, this one hurts the most as the original RoboCop is one of my favourite movies of all time.

Paul Verhoeven's sci-fi movies are all timeless classics, why must hollywood crap on all three? Didn't RoboCop 3 hurt enough already?
