Just got it in the mail today. Got it off Ebay for 30$. When I told the guy I was doing a DOSBOX collection he Priority Mailed it to me. It's got all the Kings Quests including 5,6,7 the DOS talkie versions and the Hi-RES adventures they did back in the early days. Has anyone else had the pleasure of owning this collection? I tried collecting the single KQ 5,6,7 talkie adventures but all I could find were the Windows versions. So the DOS versions must be ultra rare.

Did you also get Phantasmagoria with that? I think it was Roberta Williams who did that game. Either way sounds like a nice collection.

I own Phantasmagoria, and am going to figure out how to get it to run on my W7 rig after I finish playing Ripper (Damn thing took forever to run through DOSBox, and even then, I had to run it on the family HP computer we keep loaded with XP). So far, it doesn't seem like they fixed the Vista compatibility issues (Tried running Manhunt and Midnight Club 2, no luck) with W7, so I'm guessing that I'll have to resort to the XP computer again.

Thanks, nope, just a demo. I wish it was the whole thing.

A fan group made an installer for it. I'll see if I can find it for you later. I'm playing Monkey Island SE at the moment.
There's this website for fans who can't play Leisure Suit Larry 7 and Lighthouse on Windows XP/Vista: (There are other installers on there as well.)
http://www.squirtthecat.com/
These are just installers not full games. The website also has the Phantasmagoria 2 installer on it. Big thanks to my sister for finding it.

Here's the Phantas 1 installer download site:

The guy says it's for the German version but it works on the English version also. It was designed for Windows XP. I'd test it but I don't own the game yet. I'm waiting on an auction to end.

That's a nice collection :)
The guys/gals over at sierrahelp.com will envy you that one for sure.
Recently I looked through my old games and actually found Phantasmagoria.
Seems I bought it back in the days, when it was first released, but I can't remember if I ever played it back then, lol.

Thanks! Now I just need to find the damn thing. Hope it's not in one of the boxes I packed up when I thought I was moving. I'll have to go into there anyway, because I think I also packed in my copy of Killzone, so hopefully I can find both in that giant box.
I did once have a few of the Kings Quest's games, nice collection though.
I have King's Quest VI and Mystery House.
I got the anthology myself, it is an excellent collection! Roberta Williams still remains, to me, the queen of computer gaming, along with Jane Jensen.
I never got around to play Phantasmagoria though, I would certainly like to try it one day.
By the way, I can heartily recommend the fan-made VGA remakes of Kings Quest I and II. Especially the second one remains one of the better adventure games I have played this decade; it not only improves the graphics and all, but it adds a whole lot of new content; making it what Kings Quest II should have been at the start, but never was officially (in my opinion). On a slightly unrelated note, they also made a remake of Quest for Glory II, which I can also highly recommend. AGDI rocks!
Another group of fans also remade Kings Quest III; it is a solid effort as well, and again, one I would recommend to anyone.

Thanks :) Me too, I've got so many games I haven't played. Just entertainment for a rainy day I guess.

No problem, I wish you luck finding it. I hope the installer works for you. Keep an eye on that squirtthecat site they seem to be devoted to getting the classics to work. I was amazed I could play Lighthouse again. Long game but an excellent story. It's about a mad scientist who lets his passion get the better of him and he opens a portal to another world. A monster comes through and kidnaps his baby daughter. You have to enter the portal and rescue them both.

Thanks, I hope GOG gets all of them one day.

Your very lucky to own a copy of Mystery House. Hold onto it tight because it's worth a bunch of money.

I agree, cool, I'm glad someone else is experiencing these classics. I wish they didn't sell them for so much money.
I totally agree Roberta Williams really had vision and passion. She wasn't in it for the money. If you watch her interviews on youtube you can see it in her face. What amazes me is they still support their games even to this day they have a bulletin board for support getting the games to work.
Yep, I downloaded all the remakes but I haven't had a chance to play them. I even got King's Quest 3 which I was ecstatic about because it was my favorite. With that wizard bastard barging in and running out on him when he goes to town. It gave me a new found respect for Al Lowe. I'll check out Quest for Glory 2 I had no idea they made a remake. Thanks for telling me.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "ultra rare". I don't have that particular set, but I have the games themselves (I bought them when they originally came out). Since I have a Mac, I also prefer DOS games to their Windows counterparts. Luckily, over the years I always bought DOS versions when available, so now I have a fairly large collection.

Cool man, you can't beat the DOS originals. I use to have the original CD to KQ6 but one of my xfriends stole it. I've had other Sierra titles over the years but they got lost during moves and storage. I've only recently begun collecting again.
I own it, bought it when it was new-ish. Originally bought Monkey Island 3, but for some reason that didn't work on my computer back then, so I took it back and swapped it for the Roberta Williams Anthology. It's a nice collection, with decent documentation. It would have helped if Roberta Williams had been a decent game designer, though. Most of her games were mediocre at best.

Just got my copy of Phantasmagoria and the install works. It plays perfect, without CD swapping. I've never played and I'm looking forward to it.
