reaver894: Has there been any announcement of his cause of death?
A severe deficiency of the Reagan era.

Heh heh.

....

Goodbye, Tom. Gonna miss ya.

Didn't he use ghost writers anyway?

Not sure. But after all if Tolken used others to write up his ideas after having dictated them (this is what my teacher told me when I was at school), I see no reason he could not, it would explain the huge collection of books he produced.

Too soon, man. :P
RIP, Mr. Clancy's one of my favorite authors. And Clear and Present Danger is one of my favorite films as well.
I checked before posting this and there was no other thread on the subject at the time or I'd have simply posted there.
Although I actually haven't read any of his stuff, I was quite surprised when I heard the news. Rest in peace.
Bummer.

Smannesman: Hated his books, but still sad.
Which the Original Rainbow Six book? If so was it pro "America Fuck Yeah?"

Also I wish GOG gets Rainbow Six 3 Raven Shield+Athena Sword+Iron Wrath and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory.

keeveek: Tango down!
You mean man down, surely? RIP Tom Clancy.
I haven't actually read his books from beginning to end but I did see quite a few movies that were based off of them with my favorite being Patriot Games.

This is really depressing to say the least.
this is sad news

I've read some of his novels, must say Without Remorse is awesome. RIP.
Sad to hear about this. Liked some of his books. All way too thick of course :)
Dang. Some really enjoyable stuff coming from Mr. Clancy.

One of my favorites is the collaboration with Larry Bond, on Red Storm Rising. Much love for this since the naval scenarios were played out using the rules Larry Bond had written for a board game which eventually appeared on the PC as "Harpoon".

Condolences to his family and friends.
I have never read his books, but enjoyed Splinter Cell games. RIP.
