benjiir: No offense, but you guys are weird in your expectations of GOG support, besides the fact that the company is closed at the moment (outside business hours) and that it's a game removed from the catalogue, and it sounds like an issue the developers created, not gog with their installer.

I only have good experiences with GOG support, and doubt you'll find a reseller with GOG's (support) values and a 30 day money back guarantee.

yogsloth: Yep, this. All this. Their new site is a drab, cluttered shit pancake, but their site support is still pretty rad. Not sure what you expect them to do to troubleshoot an individual title's in-game error.
The site looks and works fine for me but you are right it could use a little more color.
OK checked spellforce no support, that's very disturbing :(
If it is answers to issues you seek, the community sub forums for all the games removed from the catalog are still there...

The Guild series might be the best place to look, and post for issues and concerns of revan.be:

Again. It's not that specific issue that's at stake. Some of the removed games only had a very brief shelf life on GOG. What if someone who bought it first day now starts having problems related to the installer ? or to the download service?

It is also about IT service practices. They should at the very least display a message stating that "sorry we don't offer support anymore for this game" or allow creating tickets but limit support if the problem is related to their download service or installer

revan.be: When trying to report a gamebreaking GUILD GOLD EDITION problem,
(at new game character creation , when they ask to enter the name ,
it will not accept what is entered even after pressing enter ,
only allowing the back button as an option.)
i noticed GOG support is impossible to reach :
when i press the could not find solution to problem ,
it just takes me back to the general list support articles of my games .
Even WHEN USING CONTACT US, selecting technical issues it takes me back to this list.
clicking on it just puts me back to the guild gold edition support articles.
This any use?

For some reason my game won't register the Enter key unless I hold the Function key and then hit enter. It works now.
i really wonder what people do with their receipts - dont they have separate folder in email for that sort of stuff? i am the only one? Deleting receipts is kinda no-no, when you buy anything electronic.

I usually file them away too although I'm still waiting for a receipt from the weekend....

i wouldnt ofcourse no how you pay stuff, but i always use paypal everywhere where i can - and ive gotten the receipts within 0-2mins 95% time. GOG being one of these.

Suppose it depends from bank? No idea.

Phc7006: Except the issue here is about not being able to create a ticket. These games were still being sold 7 days ago and their removal was announced far less than 30 days ago, so there could still be people willing to call on still valid contractual warranties
Not being able to create a ticket is probably a bug, but I'm certain support will reply on this tomorrow.
I remember winning when perimeter went of the catalog, and I won a gift receipt for it after it was removed. I was unable to claim my game, even though it was paid for while it was still in the catalog.

GOG didn't do that on purpose and fixed it as soon as they could, and posted on the forums that it was an issue they would be working on. Can't expect more. So maybe my expectations are wrong, but I doubt it's a deliberate action not being able to log a support ticket.

would suck if true , especially because i bought them specifically because it was thr last chance.
This also ties into GOG's guarantee's about buying a game ,
and if it does not run on my system to get my money back.
How the hell am i going to be able to claim that if i can't even contact them?
You don't really expect companies to give people support for games they don't sell? That is insane. Should I contact GOG support about a problem with Team Fortress 2 or DOTA 2 or Call Of Duty Ghosts? That would be like what you did...

No, but we do support games that were bought here when they were in the catalog :)

As far as the support form acting up, that is most likely a bug of some sort but we'll have to investigate this.

What about the Linux versions? Before GOG introduced Linux support, I thought that all GOG games that had Linux versions availible eg. on Steam, would be made availible here as well.

As it stands, however, eg. Amnesia got removed from the catalogue before you introduced the Linux version...

So, in cases such as this (of removed games) will there be a Linux version?

If not, I must say that it's somewhat disappointing.

I think Gog only supplies what the devs allow them to supply, if the devs gave a Linux build, it should be here and supported even if the game is removed from sale. If the devs never gave Linux builds to gog, even if availible elsewhere doesnt make sense to expect them after a game is removed.

I guess it was dumb of me to assume that they'd introduce Linux support the right way. Instead, they only gave Linux versions of a handful of games - again, I assumed that its no biggie, that I'd simply get them later and just had to wait a little (after all, GOG has a limited staff).
But now, seeing the removal of Amnesia, my confidence in GOG begun to shrink, as I came to realise that most likely I will never get the Linux version.
