I'm surprised that with all of you computer geeks here, nobody mentioned the death of the esteemed engineer, "inventor" of the first computer mouse.

Anyway, just wanted to share the news of his death (Tuesday 2 July) and pay tribute to his work in the field.

PS : I actually made an error in the title of the thread. It's Engelbart with an E, not Angelbart.

I saw that not more then an hour ago, never thought of posting it here. Yes, the man is a computer god... shame the Facebook generation don't care!
Too bad all the tards are trying to destroy his creation by forcing touch controls and gamepad.

Long live the mouse

Variety is a good thing but just like a keyboard with a ps2 slot... mouse should always be an option!
I decided it would only be fitting, as a tribute to this man, to post a code for quite possibly my all-time favourite point and click adventure game:

>_<

HUGW-42KJ-KR5X-3BVQ (the code is backwards)

R.I.P. Mr. Engelbart.

You sure? Got only invalid code - but then again, I'm on a hurry and maybe got something wrong. +1 though!

Thanks for the mouse, Mr. Angelsbeard!! I hate touchpads, so you pretty much have sweetened my life! Rest in peace!

>_< it's Beneath a Steel Sky. Sigh, I wish I could put money down for that game. Seriously though, people should use their mice to download the game, then do some dystopian point and clicking.

God... Even in a thread like this you have to insult people who have other preferences than yourself.

Anyway - R.I.P. He did a lot of work towards practical and usable HCI, for which we will be ever indebted.

Haha okay :D I did download it to try it out, but only for about 10 minutes... will play more when my backlog allows for it :)
God bless him.

I love my mouse, a Logitech Performance MX Mouse. It is the nicest mouse I've ever had and I cannot imagine computing and gaming without it. Mice have come a long way over the years with something for everyone out there.
