Good afternoon. I don't have the greatest PC in the world but it suffices for most things.
I use this site to get at-least a rough idea on if a particular game is playable on my system.

I am looking for given my System X, what can I play at PASS level.

Any ideas ?

Lt.
Uhh, missing info? What game and what system? Likewise, if you're interested in a particular game then it's best to peruse that game's subforum.
I would say list the spec of your PC so the community has a better idea and can recommend according to your spec.
Also, we post suggested specs on every game's page, which should help you as well.
Hello. I meant to include the http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/.
Which I know is not perfect but has been fairly accurate on what my system could run.

I am looking for a sort of a 'What can You Run?" vs the "Can you Run it".

I made the mistake of buying via gog Witcher 2 which I would swear met the requirements
but I couldn't run it even at the lowest level. My fault...

But in any case here are my specs.

Dell Inspiron 531
AMD Athlon 64 x2 5000+
PNY GeForce 9500GT 1GB ( nVidia drive 295.73 )
4GB RAM
Windows 7 Home Premium SP1
1TB HD.

your only weak spot is the GPU the 9500 is only an 8500 rebranded (NV sucks like that) upgrade that and you'd be good to go (you can get a decent replacement for about $50)
Hello wodmarach.

What would you suggested for a card ?
The 9500 GT is a rebranded 8600, not an 8500. The difference is a big one: a factor of two in performance.

It's still not enough for TW2; it's about the minimum anybody has been able to get the game to work at all with.

With that old Dell, I wouldn't go overboard with a costly, powerful replacement. It will be hard enough to find a replacement card that will work at all with it.

The PCI-Express version on that motherboard is 1.0a. Many modern PCI-Express cards will not work correctly in a 1.0a slot. We had another member of these forums get burned by this problem, and I still feel bad about having advised him to upgrade his graphics card, when his motherboard simply could not be made to work with a modern card despite many attempts.

Even worse, it is a BTX motherboard and case, which will hinder you in any attempt to install a modern graphics card with a cooler that extends beyond single width.

Use that computer for good old games, and start saving for a new one.

Me? Oh, those problems were from before I joined, so nevermind ;)

Anyway, the theory is that any PCI-E card should work on any PCI-E slot, but as cjrgreen stated, PCI-E 1.0a ports do have known issues with later cards. You might luck out and actually find one that works, but it is a risky prospect to go out and buy a new graphics card, considering the known compatibility issues.

It's pretty much a crapshoot. Maybe it will work, maybe it won't, but it's your money you're spending to find out.

Anyway, with the BTX layout, just forget it. Nothing worth upgrading to will even fit.
Thank you everyone for your feedback. This is the reason why I was asking for a
'What can I run?" type of site.
Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare works just fine on this box at its highest settings.

I really don't want to hunt for a game, but given my system what can I run. Then I can choose
a game(s) that may lie outside my normal genre and have a decent experience.

You could try a 9600GT, it is single width, and I could play COD-Black Ops, DeusEx Human Revolution, Tiberium Wars, all at highest settings and 1600x900 resolution.

Course I don't know what version of PCI-E it needs though..

Long gone from the market, only available as surplus or used :( Also, it cannot run on the Inspiron's power supply, since it needs auxiliary PCI-e power, and the stock power supply has neither the juice nor the required connector.

Well, if wanted to keep the Dell he has, it would probably be worth upgrading PSU, that CPU aint bad, I was using a A64 4200+ with said video card and a 2GB ram and got good framerate. (I have DX-HR on Xbox 360 and it runs better on PC)
