Anybody else here collect retro console games such as NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, etc?

I like collecting NES games complete in box.

I'm a pretty big collector of the N64 / Saturn / PS1 era. N64 games (like NES, I'm sure) are tough to find complete in the box (and in good condition).

Collect? No. My wife would have a hissy :D However, I still have my Sega Master System!
I'm so excited I finally got the second hardest licensed NES game to get. The first being Stadium Events which I will probably never get,

But today I acquired Flintstones 2 Surprise at Dinosaur Peak.

I used to be a huge neo geo collector. I had the home cartridge system, the home cd system and the arcade machine at once one time.

That's the hardest system to collect for. Some rare Neo Geo AES games can go from U$2,000 up to U$10,000 on ebay.
I wouldn't say I'm a collector. But if I see some oldies lying in a charity shop I do tend to buy them. Poor things need some love.

I do, but my collection is still way too small. I'm still not collecting NES stuff, though.

If you go for sealed, complete stuff. I'm not quite into it THAT much.

Ya that system is insane to try for a CIB set.

Not really, some Neo Geo AES games are really that expensive. I'm not into sealed stuff either. Yeah, it's nice to get a sealed rare game, but the price difference isn't worth it.

The Saturn is also a bitch to collect for if you're buying american games (especially those rare JRPGs like Panzer Dragoon Saga and the Shining series).

Sure depends on rarity too, but pretty much yeah, it requires either complete, sealed, etc. Because the art, manuals, etc are what jumps up the prices.

For the NES I'm not too worried about sealed although I do have a few sealed games but I am going for complete. As long as it has the box and manual and maps etc if it came with the game. I don't need the inserts like warranty cards, nintendo power signup cards, etc. Some games also came with posters which I will get if I can but not necessary.
If you're fortunate enough to have a Half-Price Bookstore in your area, many of them started carrying retro games within the last couple of years. You can do a search on their website to see if they stock anything nearby.

I've actually sold off my retro game collection, except for the Super Star Wars series and Final Fantasy 3 for SNES.

Yeah the only neo geo related items I ever bought either sealed or complete was a sealed fatal fury 2 for neo geo cd, and a complete unopened box of a 1 slot neo geo arcade mobo.
