F1ach: Dunno what is bad about the controls, I find them fluid for dodging , melee and firing, but I have only played Leon, so maybe the others are different.
Most reviews say the Leon campaign is by far the best, so you might want to temper expectations for the remaining campaigns.

I'll get the game someday in a Steam sale, like 5.

While I have read that in reviews and on forums, if you dig deep enough, you will see that alot of people prefer other campaigns to Leons, I guess it depends on your playstyle to some extent, but, from what I can gather, the reason most prefer Leon, is due to the fact his campaign is the one that most resembles an actual RE campaign, where as the others mimic different game genres eg. CoD and GoW.

On sayig that, I only paid €22 for it, so even if the other campaigns suck, I will play Leons twice (second as helena), Mercs and when the december patch comes out, I can play Ada's, with no pre-requisits, so I would even consider the game value for money if I just played those, but, as I like GoW and CoD, I'm sure i'll get plenty of mileage out of the other campaigns as well. :)
Different than usual? Alright, it's not survival horror anymore, but really; evil corporation makes evil decisions, there's a zombie/j'avo/whatever outbreak, fight your way through it, and finish the end boss with a rocket launcher (only for Leon's campaign, but yeah!) Feels like Resident Evil to me!

The controls felt a bit sluggish though, and there's something not quite right with the camera. The BS instadeaths and QTEs out of fucking nowhere also made me want to throw my controller through the wall more often than I would like. I still enjoyed it, mainly because I always enjoy the silliness of the plot. But, had it not been Resident Evil, I don't think I would have put up with the flaws.

While I like the camera so far (makes it kinda scary/clostrophobic), there is a camera control patch due in december (wtf? december???) that pulls it back to a more normal TPS view.
From what I have seen and read, Resident Evil 6 is a shitty, shitty game. I'm looking forward to (re)play Resident Evil 1 on my PC, one of these days.
I have noticed something with this game. "The review said its shit so im not going to play because its shit!" I have noticed that people havent actually sat down and played a majority of the game before critizing. Its just silly.

The quicker this bandwagon disperses the better.

IMO it died down just recently.

Yeah, its also kinda disappointing when people knock a game because of what it isn't, instead of judging it on it's own merits.

I'm pretty sure people did judged it on its own merits and did not liked it on its own merits.
I haven't played much of it, was only able to play through about 4-5 chapters of Leon's campaign and the Prologue last night at my brother's place. But, from that, there's far too many QTE sequences, the lighting is horrendous even for a horror-survival game, wet surfaces (such as Helena's arms) look like plastic, and I hate the mirrors in the game for puzzles. With that said, the gunplay is decent despite not knowing what you're shooting most of the time; I like the skills, but would rather them be permanent as opposed to being relegated to skill sets of 3 at a time, it feels like it's needlessly limiting; and voice acting is pretty good so far. Story from what I've seen is blah like RE5.

Again, this is just from the Prologue and up through the train boss in Leon's campaign, so maybe the other 3 stories are better.

Maybe some, but most of the response I've seen has been entirely based on the fact that it isn't a survival horror game. "OMG NOTHING LIKE THE ORIGINALS, 0/10!"
Resident Evil has been, and likely always will be a series I can take or leave, that being said, I own all games with the exception of the 3DS title, the name of which escapes me at the moment. I did not purchase these games simply because they were slapped with the name "Resident Evil" on their packaging, I purchased them simply because they looked fun, each game I purchased, I purchased after what can only loosely be described as research. I experienced the first Resident Evil when a neighbor invited me to his house to play with his new Playstation system, and ended up enjoying it, thus purchasing it for myself when I finally had my own Playstation.

Resident Evil 2 I came upon rather coincidentally, it was a preview video on a demo disc, or perhaps a game disc, the memory eludes me at the moment, and based on the gameplay I saw, it certainly looked fun enough, it did not matter to me that it had the same name and same style of play as its predecessor, the fact that it looked fun is what mattered. I discovered the existence of Resident Evil 3 when I came upon what I believe was an issue of "Playstation Magazine" with it on the cover at a Shaws supermaket. The description of an encounter with Nemesis had me incredibly fascinated. Again, the name was irrelevant.

I suppose the point I am trying to make is there are no "fan boy goggles" clouding my vision when I say I enjoyed 4, 5, and 6. 4 I enjoyed because, well, it was fun, again regardless of the name it carried, I could have cared less about the change in the style of play from the previous entries. 5 may have been a cut under in terms of sheer enjoyment, but I had someone to play it co-operatively with, which helped me to enjoy it greatly, as a good co op experience is always a positive in my book, that being said, to be honest, if not for that, I would likely not even bother.

Resident Evil 6 I purchased solely because it is a co-op shooter, and I am always looking for a co-op experience, good or bad, regardless of the name, regardless of the acclaim the series holds. I read reviews, and I witnessed all sorts of boiling pots of negativity, a divide betweem those who loathe the game, and those they deemed to be fanboys, if only for the fact that they enjoyed the game, as if a blind love for the series, and in some arguments, Capcom, clouded their judgement, and made them only think they enjoyed the game, making them wrong.

In any case, I would describe the game as an enjoyable co-op experience, the single player experience is also fairly enjoyable, having played through each campaign both alone and cooperatively (with the obvious exception of the final campaign), I can easily say that the game, while not amazing, groundbreaking, revolutionary, and maybe not even great, is still a good game, my personal co-op experience was the highlight of my time with it, and since I can not claim to speak for the taste of everyone in this diverse world, I will not be so bold as to recommend it to anyone, I simply say that it was worth my attention.

A little review that sums up the game nicely :)

I played Leon's campaign in the demo. It was pretty sweet, I dug the tense moments and the limited ammo and the actiony bits and everything.

I then loaded Chris' game and was attacked by terrorist zombies with AKs and RPG launchers, while everyone kept shouting "BRAVO TEAM SECURE THE CHECKPOINTS!" like every freaking shooter ever. I laughed and laughed and laughed at the hilarious transparent attempt to attract the COD audience and then immediately shut it off.

Seriously, WHY A RPG LAUNCHER? Make the monster shoot blood lasers or exploding spores or acid grenades or something other than rockets. It's a goddamn mutant zombie monster, this is the franchise that brought us some pretty memorable and unique monsters.

But in all seriousness it didn't seem like a miserable shooter like many people claim, but it felt very uninspired.
If they ever make a PC release I will probably buy it. I liked 4 and 5.

I always thought that RE 1 and the mechanics it had were a failed concept for games. (No, bad controls are not a feature).
