I actually went out of my way to intentionally spoil myself so I would have no urge to buy this one what so ever. Watched the ending (which was laughably bad BTW) as well as some key reveals seemed to have done the trick marvellously. I did that mainly because I'm conflicted about it in general. On one hand I usually enjoy the games Capcom makes on the other however the "standards" of RE (no walking while shooting bs) as well as the whole co-op element which don't get me wrong I'm all for unless like in this case it is forced would drive me nuts.
My suggestion would be if you're into RE4 (really into it) get this game. If not wait for a price drop or go play something else.
more hints on a PC version

vangordon: i'm waiting for pc release, and i hope it will be sooner than 4

Haven't played it, but the word on the RE4 PC port was that it was terrible... so i'd be reluctant to risk the RE5 port.

The game was like some king of a "shoot-them-all" thing. It definitely went from like hell to heaven (the fear factor is totally gone, no more zombies, the puzzles are easy meaning even a little kid can solve them, the enemies were not even a little threatening...)
No more RE games for me until Capcom return to the real RE setting.

Same. this is not Survival Horror, it's Action.. no, no horror, just action. Anyone who's scared of this is a pussy.
I want mystery and intrigue, not "here's my mutha effin' prick in your face!"
iv'e played RE 4 originally on GC (on which game looked best), PC version even after patch didn't look so good (was far behind GC, but as i heard was better than PS2).
But game was still fun (with gamepad).
The port was really lousy. But after that we had decent Lost Planet and very good DMC4 Port so i hope for the best with RE5 for PC.
And yes i liked this Stop-Aim-Shoot rule.
And yes 4th was totally different from previous (id liked them too)

the stop-aim-shoot rule seems to me like an attempt to go back to their roots, but still it's not enough.
I'm tired of people bashing Capcom for RE4 PC, Ubisoft is the one that was in charge of the PC port so if you want to speculate on RE5 PC's quality take a look at Lost Planet and DMC4. Protip: all next-gen Capcom titles are developed on PC first and foremost, then later on ported to the consoles, so regardless of whether or not they decide to sell those games for PC they will always be best when played on PC. Why do you think DMC4 runs at insanely high framerates whilst looking fuckawesome on PC? They even had enough headroom to implement a difficulty level where the screen was filled to the brim with enemies.
Maybe Capcom will get around to doing a proper port of RE4 and DMC3 as they themselves were fucking pissed off about it (Ubisoft forgot to ship RE4 with SHADERS).

Needs more walking zombies and less ammo, am I right? There's always RE6.

I don't know about you guys, but this review is going to make me stay away from RE5.

Playing on my own means a game long escort mission? No thanks.
People like to whine and piss and moan over the fact that Resident Evil 4-5 aren't scary like the old Resident Evil games but everyone is still crying over the fact that you can't move while you shoot. Jesus fucking Christ people do you want the series to change or not? Choose one or the other damn it! And if you really have such a problem with the new Resident Evils then just boycott Capcom all together and quit forcing your hypocritical 13-year-old-styled opinions at us real gamers and get on with your life. Or just go kill yourself. Either way is fine by me.
Good thing I have a bro to play this with or else I might just pass.

Yeah, seems like it's more of a co-op game rather than a game you'd play by yourself. Which is a bummer, it's sorta fun in singleplayer.
Well if its gonna be GoW PC like co-op (GfWL) then it's single player for me.
