Tallima: Whatevs. Some folks might be new and want to try for a giveaway. I'd use some high rep for trades, though.

It's possible to make new accounts just to join to increase chances. I don't see that really happening, though. (I could be mistaken or blind)
I never do rep requirements for my giveaways and likely still won't on my next one. Anyone suspicious could be quietly excluded from their chance to win.
I've never used a rep requirement for giveaways, but I would certainly consider one if I was to trade with someone.

Depends on why you're giving away, really. I think the past couple of games was just so that other people could play games I liked. I didn't really care who it was that got it.

Zeewolf: Are there still people around with a negative rep?
You really need to check out the Ninja and classified threads. I missed the best parts, but now they are fav'ed. Now, where to get popcorn...

It's just getting to the point of being tedious with that scammer guy. It's getting boring, not fun at all.

I cant understand why you'd find it entertaining to see that.
-1 or less.

50-100 or so sounds reasonable but I think it's better if the giver decides.

I think it goes beyond scammers. It's freaking hilarious. Like the GOG forums on bad acid. Hopefully it stays contained in these threads.

OmegaX: It doesn't matter what we think. It only matters what the person doing the giveaway thinks. His/her giveaway, his/her rules.

langurmonkey: The question of this thread is, do you think it is fair. Not, if what we think matters. What we think, obviously doesn't matter because people can do whatever they want with their giveaways.
It didn't say "Do you think it is fair?" when I read it. Anyway I don't think it matters if it's fair or not. Like you say, people can do whatever they want with the games they give away.

I think we should all stop trading. I know it would suck, but this way he wouldn't scam people over here anymore.

Yes, mostly all the same person I think.

It wont get to that stage. If anything, i could trade again with people i traded with in the past (and everyone else can do that too).
It might be time to conduct trades and sales outside of these forums.

I think at least for Steam games, head to SteamTrades.com and handle things there. GOG members could post here that they created a trade thread over there, then people can post over there. SteamTrades uses a rep system.

You going to let one man ruin GOG? I bet soon this guy or these people are going to laugh their asses off at all of you. Laughing because, not only did they get away with scamming, they also ruined GOG by scaring people. Stop trading? What is next? 100 rep requirements? What is next? What will happen if one day a guy creates a bunch of ALTs , then gets them each over 100 rep to win all giveaways and people here find out? 500 rep requirement and everyone under 500 rep is a second class GOG citizen like we new users are now?
50 - 100 seems reasonable, long enough to make sure it's not just some throwaway account used by a scammer and in the end it's in the hands of the gifter how they want to limit it if at all . In the end they are putting the money up and the giveaways aren't something you have some entitlement to or privilege to.

do you realize how ridiculous you sound? You have a better solution? Not even GOG staff can help (probably). Soon trading will probably be limited to circles. Why are you so concerned about rep?
