xyem: My testing revealed that if your post gets low-rated, you always lose rep (until the loss cap), but high-rating only sometimes gains you rep.

EDIT: In case anyone doesn't get the above, any time your post changes to "low-rated", you lose a rep point. So you could remove 5 rep from someone using one post by "toggling" it between neutral and low-rated.
Couldn't you do the same thing with high-rating to gain rep? Toggle between neutral and high-rated to gain rep? Even if it's "sometimes" if you only have to press + then - then + again it's not really a hard thing to do.
Far out I missed that above post. So rep was never a problem until I showed up? WOW, I feel so honored, so special, so KajaGoogoo!

Licurg: I lost 12 rep overnight . I had 632 when I went to sleep, and today when I logged in I had 620. I thought that couldn't happen ?
That is interesting and I also thought it wasn't possible. I thought 10 was the maximum (5 from yesterday, 5 from today)

Hm.. I didn't test toggling it from just one account, I toggled it using my RepTest accounts (so #6 would uprate, #7 downrate, #8 uprate, #9 downrate etc.).

I'll add it to my list of tests as I intend on repeating and extending on the tests I did in a more controlled environment.

When I say "biased towards negative outcomes", I mean that it takes less effort to remove rep than to gain it, not that it isn't possible to abuse the system the other way.

Not only that, it happened really quickly. Mind if I post your RepLog data that shows it?

Go ahead :)
I've not read through all 7 pages of this but I wanted to say that I think that the rep system, as it stands is potentially limiting the functionality that GOG can bring to the forum
Sometimes, like when you win a giveaway but then can't find the thread to say 'thanks' publically, it would be handy to be able to click on a user and see their post history but with the rep system in place that would enable down-repping sprees too much (at least I *think* that's why that feature isn't there, the GOG custom forums are nice in many ways and do the basics well but some of it could do with more work...)

Maybe someone installed Sacrifice, decided that hated it, went after you for revenge! ;-D

Screw the log data, I just want proof that this was NEVER an issue until I showed up.

Happened before you joined, so don't worry .

Below are the times when Licurg's Rep changed, starting from the last 632 reading (times in UTC):

2013-08-14T03:15 - 632
2013-08-14T03:30 - 631
2013-08-14T03:45 - 626
2013-08-14T04:15 - 624
2013-08-14T04:30 - 623
2013-08-14T05:45 - 620

This shows a loss of 12 rep points in 2 hours. It's possible they changed the loss cap during the recent site update.. I've made a note for the next batch of tests.

Repping sprees are already really easy.. just don't use GOG to find the posts.

I wasn't. :P I was just having fun and a certain forum members expense. He comes in here, calls me out by name, and when I argue back at him he gives me shit for picking on him. It's really pretty funny.

ps
I have to stop posting in this thread. :P Pretty soon I'm not going to be able to post pics or links and honestly that's the only thing that worries me.

Is it possible to find out which account(s) do the downrepping ?
I mean it. If you don't stop it I will leave this forum and never come back! :P

I think that is not possible. Even if gog stored this information, they would not be able to disclose it

Why not? I don't think it falls in the "personal information" category .

Is it stated somewhere in terms of use?
