P1na: I think we have a winner! Reason #1 sounds solid to me.
LOL XD

I'm not sure how I was able to discern your interests so accurately. Pure luck!

At least now I'll finally be able to play this damn game. Though I've heard that it doesn't have much replayability, so I'll probably just play it once and then go back to playing "The Guild" over and over again.

Thespian*: Congrats to Eli, the first winner!
Sorry to disappoint you Thes, but we're just joking around. You have to read my initial post with the thick sarcasm that should be immediately obvious upon reading the first line (assuming you've ever noticed my avatar & subtitle). Though if you couldn't tell that I was joking from reason #2, then you probably didn't read it.

Of course, it is a bit of an inside joke, I suppose, its origin being this post here.

And I was celebrating your joke (I LOL'ed at your reasoning), but I forgot to put a smiley after my sentence. :D Fixed. ;)

(though I didn't know about the original post, so thank you for the link) :)

...Am I too late to declare myself "not in"?
I can't speak for the anthropomorphic talking Pineapple up there, but - wait, yes I can! Yes, I believe the giveaway is now closed to non-entries. If you would like to not enter the giveaway, you'll need to declare that in a different thread, preferably one that is accepting new non-entries. If you're unable to find a giveaway still accepting non-entries, you may want to consider declaring your non-entry by creating a new giveaway that does not accept entries and does not have limits on not entering it.

Oh I see! Well that's good. I probably wouldn't've been fooled had it not been the very same text you've written approximately 1,000 times before to real winners. I certainly found it unusual! :-D
Bumpity BUMP!

SO if no more non entries are allowed, can we choose the definite non-winner? Or is it something like they all get the joy of not winning since they all were equal non-entries? Or is it assumed that the term 'not in' is synonymous with 'bump' and they were not really non entries, but cleverly disguised bumps.

Also Thespian...you missed the opportunity to say that the inside joke of the Deux Ex guy pretending that he is constantly annoyed about the game was ...illogical.

I'm quite used to Humans behavioring themselves in an illogical way, by now. ;)

Nope, you can't. I can, of course, but I won't. MWAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH!!!!

I think that all of those who took it upon themselves to not enter most certainly feel the great unbridled joy of not winning, yes. But I don't think your bump conspiracy theory is assumed by anyone but the mole people, probably, though there may be non-entries that are nothing more than disguised bumps - I suppose we'll never know, Mulder.

Hehee, yeah, I think this post here was the first time I had a personal encounter with said originality. ;-)

A constant force of good on the forums, I'm certain your words are always genuinely appreciated no matter how many times you repeat them.

You certainly mastered your hacking skills on Deus Ex, if you have been able to get that link using the GOG propietary search. :D

Thanks for the kind compliment, Eli. :)

Ha! :D Actually, I post on GOG so infrequently and in so few threads that all I had to do to find that thread was go back to where I started seeing "2012" in the "Topics I've participated in" section. It was about as difficult as finding the keycode to one of UNATCO's "high-security" storage sheds...

P1na: ...
...Speaking of which, I recently received my winning prize (Deus Ex) and installed it. I played through the opening Liberty Island mission, which was REALLY boring and stupid and uninteresting, but I bore through it with the hope that it would get better. But when I go back to the docks to leave the island, the stupid game won't let me get on the boat!! HOW DO I GET ON TEH BOAT?!!1?

...I actually didn't know that section existed...

Oh, yes, that. It's easier than it looks: you see, there's a force field protecting the boat. You may not have noticed because the dialogue is so poorly written, but this game actually takes place in the future. Most people don't use lasers because they're too dumb, but the police boat has access to decent defensive shielding technology (which makes sense, for once). In order to break through it, you can either shoot a rocket to the lower side of the boat (I recommend shooting it from underwater, you'll need lvl 3 in swimming skill and the underwater rocket upgrade kit that was... can't remember exactly where, just look for it, not hard to find) OR you can pile up a bunch of TNT boxes that you can get around the level, put it on the pier next to the boat and blow them up. The second strategy is trickier because while piling up the TNT while on range of the boat, the crappy interface will think you wanted to "activate" the boat instead of throwing the box you're carrying and trigger a cutscene where the boat will leave without you ever boarding it. So be careful with that.
* ROFL! * XD

Oh my god, my sides hurt now.

OK, well thanks! I'll try to find the underwater rocket kit first, and if I can't then I'll be sure to be careful with that last part, that does sound tricky. Good to know how to disable the force field though!!

Actually, I tried to make a TNT box platform right next to the boat (and I do mean next to it, as metal TNT boxes float on this game and you can stand on them) and blowing it up hoping that some part of me would get on the boat. But it didn't work, :( Which clearly means there I didn't gather enough TNT to overpower the forcefield.
Darn! :-(

Yeah, probably not enough TNT boxes. I guess it's a really strong force field. That's a really good idea, though. I mean, hopefully it's your head but a foot should work too.
