If Amanita decided to be such dicks to GOG and Backstab everyone who Pre-ordered the game here on GOG, can the GOG team please remove Botanicula from the GOG frontpage?

I think that would only work if GOG had an exclusivity deal, otherwise they can't really call the dev at fault.

I don't believe it will make much of a difference at this point.

Bet you the game is worth the pre-order price, but the problem is they threw in extra games with the bundle for the same price as the pre-order. Well, I mean if you go above the average you get a 4th game I think, or 3 for just dropping a penny.

It's really GOG that got screwed here, for wasting their time, publicity, losing trust from some customers that don't know any better. And when someone backstabs GOG, I take it personally.

Hmmmm... why not. Not a bad idea. But I feel GOG is up to something - so let us wait till tomorrow and see what happens. ;)

Why?

If you think the game is worth $10, then you can still pay that much, to either GOG, straight to the developer, or to charity.

If you don't think it's worth that much, then you probably didn't preorder in the first place.

+1 Gog has already posted on facebook that they'll come up with something tomorrow for the people who preordered Botanicula here. I plan on picking up some gogs this weekend to support GOG but none of the games I get will be Amanita games.

GOG's a business, that's all. There's no need to get personally outraged over this when it doesn't make any sense to. GOG never has been and never will be the sole distributor of Botanicula - Amanita is free to sell the game wherever and however they want. I might have delayed the bundle a few weeks or months if I was them, but a lot of the posts here are ridiculous. The developer doesn't have some vendetta against the site, they aren't trying to kill GOG, and there's no reason to boycott their games or the bundle. I don't think anyone has suggested the last one YET, but it's coming. Just wait and see.

+1. I'm upset only because I feel that GOG got screwed and I thoroughly like GOG. After all, they are the only gaming site from which I've purchased games, so I don't want to see them go under (not that this will be enough to cause that, but still).

I'm really glad to hear that GOG is trying to do something to make it up for the people that got screwed over however it's not right that GOG has to pick up the Tab for Amanita's fuck-ups, amanita should THE VERY LEAST give a free copy of Machinarium (or a game of the same value) here on GOG to everyone who pre-ordered Botanicula along with a public apology

And what on earth is stopping you from going to HIB, spending a dollar (or a few cents), and getting the other games for cheap or for almost nothing? If you don't want them to get any money out of it, they won't - you can donate it all to charity and you wouldn't be supporting them at all.

DRAMA QUEEN ALERT!

I'm not saying it wasn't a dick move by Amanita: it absolutely was. But let's not get too emotional about it. GOG has left its cosy little niche and entered a brutally competitive environment. This is part of it, like it or not. They want to play with the big boys, well, they have to be prepared, because the big boys play dirty sometimes.

Supposing I pre-ordered Botanicula from GOG (I didn't but suppose), thinking I get a discount. I then wait until it finally arrives, then on the very same day I find out that I could have gotten not only Botanicula but an entire bundle of games for the very same price. I go back to GOG and I'm like, "wtf GOG?"

In short, it rips off the customer and also drives a wedge between the customer and GOG.
