The alphabet saved the best for last!

Z, the classic Real Time Strategy Game by the Bitmap Brothers remade for the modern PC and the contemporary gamer, is available 20% off on GOG.com. That's only $5.59 for the first week.

With Z, fans of this classic strategy title are in for a real treat! Everything is in here from the terrific comedy cut scenes to the frantic game play, making this the definitive version of Z.Under the command of General Zod, it is your job to take control of chain smoking, foul-mouthed, abusive, alcoholic robot-grunts, whose main purpose is to battle it out on different planets of the universe. That is, if they're not currently crashing the ship they're on! Advance through the landscape and take over abandoned factories and radar sites which will help you produce more vehicles and weapons to aid your army to victory. This is not a drill, soldier! Every decision counts, and if you screw up, you will be punished for it. General Zod is ready to rumble and makes no bones about it! Z is simply the fastest, funniest, most frantic, feature-packed action-strategy game you'll play this century!

If you're looking to get back to the roots of Real Time Strategy gaming, and you're not afraid of fast-paced and challenging gameplay, you simply need to get Z, for only $5.59 on GOG.com. The 20% off release discount lasts until Friday, July 11, at 9:59AM GMT.
No multiplayer, no resolution options, poorly adapted mobile controls and interface... really not recommended.
Yeah, frankly, I'd rather have the original DOS version I used to play than this pseudo updated version.

BillyMaysFan59: For those of you that want GOG to keep supporting XP, vote here! :P

http://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/continued_windows_xp_support
The problem is that Microsoft have or will stop supporting XP
not much gog can do to make it work down the line.
People shoud move on to either linux or Windows 7.
Windows seven is better than XP and it will get support for many more years
alternitive move over to Linux wich dosnt cost a small fortune.

Alot of XP games also works on windows 7.
I wanted to thank the people that commented here and posted reviews. I would have been unaware that this was a remake with missing features. Even worse, it's a port of a mobile game. I've gotten tired of games suffering due to the weakest platform that a game was developed for, and then used to port to everything else. It was bad enough when games were ported from consoles to PC, and has only gotten worse with mobile as the source.

Thank you very much GoG for bringing this, I've been waiting for this oldschool strategy from my childhood :)
Bought it instantly.
Z? Z!?!? I did a double take when I saw the banner on the homepage, I LOVE THIS GAME. Buying it right now! I would have bought it as soon as I saw the banner but apparently, throwing money at my computer while dancing around the room does not seem to work. :)

Once again GOG has rewarded my love for them.
I can't believe that so of you are serious and praising this "remake", this wanna be "Z" to heaven for finally being on GOGcom? I am a purist and a remake that is a whole different gaming experience is not the game I wishlisted for.
I am really angry about this. With good luck someday the real Z is going to be added, maybe only as Bonus Content. But until then, I keep my money.
*GASP!*

'Z' is finally on GOG.... too awesome!

I'm still recovering from the last major sale and you release this title NOW??? Wishlisted. I have too much love for old Bitmap Brothers games. ...even for the remakes.

The original DOS version, too, please. It will be greatly appreciated and ramp this item to the top of my wishlist if that item is added.

Thanks for this! Too much good stuff on GOG.
Has anyone gotten GOG's version of Z to run in a window? Or is it fullscreen only?

It would be nice if it was clear on the game page that this is not the original Z. It seems so many remakes and enhanced editions are really lacking this days. I've been staying away from the remakes based on reviews, and my opinion of the remakes is also based on the reviews. These should have been easy sales, but due to various reasons I won't touch of any them.

Z
Speedball 2 HD
Age of Mythology Enhanced Edition
Age of Empires 2 HD
Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
Baldur's Gate 2: Enhanced Edition

And then they are those abominations like...
Dungeon Keeper (mobile)
Syndicate (maybe not bad, but it's not Syndicate)
Great news that Z's arrived, but I agree with the community that the DOS version (and Z 95, from the sounds of things) should be included as an extra. OSX and Linux users will probably get more out of a version they can emulate, for that matter.
is the sequel, steel soldiers better?

No XP.That's the final nail in the coffin.

The Steam store page lists XP for this game; either way a lack of XP support going forward is expected, especially for new games.

Don't care about Steam but yeah suppose XP is history. But i'd still like to see support for XP if possible.Just like good old games.
