Not quite true actually. Several Minecraft mods include various kinds of meat block.
this just looks bonkers...

And the main character is a meat block magically brought to life (maybe) in Super Meat Boy!

Yeah but
"The first game to include minable sky whales, and meat blocks."
First one to include both, at the same time and simultaneously and everything!

Hmm, sounds like I might want to hold off on buying this for a while, to see if they address some of the issues raised in that review. "Brutal difficulty" certainly isn't a selling point for me.

Technically, yes. The Aether mod for Minecraft actually does include sky whales, but as far as I know, they are not minable, so...

RabiatorG0G: Looks like it might become a hit in Norway and Japan..... in Japan for research purposes only, obviously.
Not that I defend whale hunting but how about when you first open up on such a topic ....

Consider how the oceans are being hoovered empty for fish by gigantic trawlers from *all* of Europe.. You get ships from Spain, Russia, UK, France, Portugal etc emptying the oceans around Norway and Iceland. They trawl with such fine masked nets that nothing escapes. Not even smaller fish that is supposed to escape, "grow up", and bring along the next generation. So yeah, I don't cry over a few whales. I cry over entire oceans being drained
Looks very good.

Every life form matters, whether it's small scale or large. To forget that is to forfeit compassion.

Damn, another one to wishlist. Actually the title I'm most interested in from today's bumper crop, even though the mix of highly detailed art with construction blocks isn't as harmonious as my eyes would like. Seems like it would be quite a bit of open-ended gaming fun.

Barefoot_Monkey: Looks very good.
Just saw the trailer and had a real blast
It seems platformers are getting more and more steampunk-ish everyday, and that's great
But for me, a couch gamer, I don't know; I mean, the sprites look kinda small, heh
just kiddin'.. I'll give it a try sooner or later. Love the art, too
Nice refreshing idea. This game seems to be innovative.
If anything you see can be built, is it then possible to build air whales out of meat blocks? :-D
Looks interesting. Must get more info first.

If you're good at the building portion of the game, I don't see why not :D

While all life is deserving of respect, I do feel the loss of beings like whales and sequoias more keenly. This is from a somewhat accountacy-like attitude, in that large, slow-growing and uncommon life is more in need of careful husbandry. Annihilate a field of dandelions and you'll have another of them in a week; annihilate a forest of sequoias and you'll won't see them again for generations, if ever. Again, not that one is inherently more precious than the other, but in greater need of care as a whole.

Not that it may matter much at this point, since we're destroying even the phytoplankton at a rate that could make Soylent Green look optimistic.
