mtfr: I'd love to see the available Linux versions of games here as well.

And considering the fact that most old games are using DosBox, it's quite doable.
That would be overly epic, considering that AFAIK it's Humble-Bundle-only at the moment and GOG would be the only store having it!

JoelFB: The timing of the Steam sale is unfortunate so close to the GOG launch (it's got nothing to do with GOG or Steam though, this is something we agreed with Steam a long time ago).

I think we can make this up for you guys, not sure yet how exactly but we'll figure something out when the dust settles, so please feel free to send a quick email to me at our support ( http://www.frozenbyte.com/contact/ ) and I'll think of something.

always really nice to see a dev on the forum - just want to say that your games are great btw!

It would seem from some of the replies in this and other threads that the best way to "make up for it" would be to release Trine 2 on GOG ... :P

but in all seriousness, my view is that these things happen, but making such an offer is a nice gesture

I already have a retail copy of Trine, but I may still buy the GOG version too. I was very sad when I learned that Trine 2 had Steamworks, but since they are selling the first Trine here, my hope to buy and play the sequel is back once again. I just wish it doesn't take too long.

The DRM-free version will be sold in 2012

"Linux and DRM free versions will be added to Humble Store purchases in 2012". We should ask if it will extend to GoG
Trine is amazing. Somehow, it captures the sort of sense of magic and innocent wonder of a fairytale. And with some pretty fun gameplay, as well.

Oh. I've sent them an e-mail where they replied that a DRM-free version would be sold in 2012, but with Trine available here, I assumed they were talking about GOG. I'll buy where that version is available first.
I'm really on the fence about this. Not only is it likely my computer won't be able to handle it at this point, but the current price-tag is really intimidating me. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the game itself, either. On one hand, I do certainly see the similarities to Lost Vikings, no matter how many have tried to refute that - I enjoyed TLV, but not so much the combat. In fact, I've always found heavy puzzle mechanics trying to balance out with combat mechanics to be a bit on the frustrating side.

I suppose at this point it's probably a moot point, but I'll be waiting to see if this goes on sale.

Trine is on sale on Steam and Amazon.com for $2 right now.

Roman5: Hopefully Trine 2 will make it's way soon over here as well :)
Unfortunately I don't think so. Trine 2 is a Steam game and Valve will, probably, not allow it. Besides, there is no Steam game on gog.

Trine is not Steam game, it's from Frozenbyte - "The DRM-free version will be sold in 2012 " which means Steamless also.

So?

Devs already said it's going to be released DRM-free (which means Steam-free) on their website.

They just cut steam things out of it, and release it here.

Trine 2 has Steamworks for now, until an already confirmed DRM-free version is released. With Trine on GOG, there is an high chance of Trine 2 to be released here aswell.

Just want to say: Thanks a lot of the great Trine games

Also: A shoutout to that guy who did the soundtrack for Trine, he deserves a medal

Thanks for the great news guys. I thought Trine 2 is a Steam exclusive but I'm glad I was wrong. :)
