Oh my ears and whiskers! I'm early!

The Night of the Rabbit, a point-and-click adventure of magic and mystery, with beautiful storybook graphics, arrived a day early and it's available for Windows and Mac OS X on GOG.com, for only $19.99.

Who goes there? Oh, you have startled me, human. We don't see many of your kind here, in the deepest depths of the forest. This isn't a place most humans would understand, their minds always busy with their work and duties. This is Mouswood, a place of magic, wonders, and danger. Or was it "adventure"? I do always get these two confused. Are you lost? I'll tell you a secret--you're only lost as long as you keep looking for a way out. Me? I never go looking for anything else than what I've already got. You never know what you may find. Or what may have find you. Take this boy who came across my clearing a while ago--was it days, or weeks, or years?--he was looking for something, but instead he was found by the Marquis. That must've ended badly for him, I gather. Or was it "well"? Words are confusing. But look at me, going on and on and on, while you probably don't want to listen to the old tree like me. Ah! I don't even suppose you can understand me, and my leafwind speach. You probably just wanted to rest a while in my shadow. Well, be on your way then. Good luck. Just remember: don't follow the white rabbit. Or "do follow" him. I do always get these two confused.

The Night of the Rabbit is an adventure game that features classic point-and-click gameplay, but matches it with extraordinary amount of fairytale qualities. The puzzles here, are an addition to the story, not the other way around. As you follow the hero, Jerry Hazelnut, and his rabbit guide, the mysterious Marquis de Hoto, deep into the mysteriously beautiful realm of Mousewood, you will many times stop to look with awe at your surroundings. The gameworld envisioned by Matt Kempke, is full of discrete charm and secret matters known only to the inhabitants of the forest. The story, as it starts to reveal, will put you in that special state of mind you only experience as a child, heading out to meet the adventure unknown, before the summer ends. If you're looking for a game full of wonders, that will make your inner child smile, and yet force you to reflect on things important in life, you have found it. Let the Rabbit lead you towards a late summer night's dream.

The Mousewood calls, can you hear it--the soft, charming whisper in the wind, playing with the summer's first dry leaves? Answer its call, get The Night of the Rabbit for only $19.99 on GOG.com.

DyNaer: are you sure ?

look closely , there're two prices : one with the game (19.99 €) , and another with the game + OST (24.99€)

my guess the price depends from the tax , that would explain the difference between 24.99 € / 29.99 € (you should have looked the premium version , or whatever the name) . I can be wrong ... but regardless the price in the US...

tpaolini: The German version is more expensive because of a deal Daedalic got with the German distributor. Daedalic got a funding from this distributor, however the digital copy the agreement also says that the digital version should cost the same as the German physical copy... More details on this other post.
Steam has different versions in different regions, even inside the € zone. This is what I get for € 29.99 - there is no other version.
"Buy The Night of the Rabbit Premium Edition
Includes Original Soundtrack and 8 audio stories from the Mousewood"

Yes Daedalic had to sign this "messed up" contract, I know and understand and don't blame them.
Nevertheless, my wallet doesn't allow such high prices.
When I remember it correctly, it was the same with Deponia. GOG could add the German language pack later.
Whatever, I'll wait for the DRM free complete version, it won't take very long :)

Lol it's 9.99 EUR in Poland. Actually the first time ever when a game is cheaper in Poland than in West Europe.

Roman5: Good release but...Why is the Soundtrack missing?

The audio stories from the Mousewood are absent as well

Daedalic is becoming greedy and lazy like BornReady Games here (aka not including extras and with the extreme focus on the Steam version)

That's because it's not the Premium Edition! :p

And it's actually a good thing. Although German players seem to be ripped off here, lowering the price for low-income countries like Poland makes perfect sense. It costs around 45 PLN right now, which is very decent for an adventure game.

If it costed 20 EUR, it would be 90 PLN and this is almost a cost of an AAA shooter title.
$20,- for a game without any goodies to speak of? Hmm, ... no. I like the game concept, I'll just wait until this goes on sale with a hefty price reduction.

EU2 version price seems bugged. Steamprices gives it as €19.99, while the steam has it at €9.99
My guess would be a pricing glitch, question is what is the correct price.
I don´t understand why so much arguin about the price : s Yes, Steam version has soundtrack and the audio stories for only 12,5 euros; but for 16 euros I got thank to the Gog´s preorder two games for the price of one (Deponia and Night of the Rabbit).

They have goodies, are drm-free and the only missing extra from Night of the Rabbit is the soundtrack, because the audiostories could be heard in game how unlockables.

I´m really happy for this, but I understand that without the Deponia offering...price is a bit up, but well..Deponia is 19.99 euros in steam, here is in dollars (cheaper).
Hey everyone! I wanted to link to my review of the preview build of The Night of the Rabbit that I wrote for Nerdy but Flirty, an all-female run gaming website. I know I've linked to it before, but in case you haven't seen those posts, here it is. I hope you enjoy and that it helps you out in your purchasing decision!

Because it is another thing to give something half price as a promo and another thing to have a halved standard price.
For example I already had Deponia, so the promo did not offer me anything!
Ah great! Another messed up release by Daedalic. So I will wait till the price comes down to $5 incl. soundtrack.

They making awesome games, but their releases are a permanent astonishing disappointment.
