Man! Can't believe this is getting released! I remember that our family got this with a new Windows 95 machine back in the day...I tried to play it but got killed pretty quick. The disc got lost over the years, so getting this back is a dream come true! Thanks GOG!

Crosmando: YES!

But just for informational purposes, Pegasus Prime was a remake of Journeyman Project 1, the original JP1 never came to GOG because it's a Windows 3.x-only 8-bit program and doesn't work on any modern systems. FYI Presto with some help from the folks at ScummVM managed to port this game over to ScummVM even though it was only ever designed for old PowerPC Macs and the Apple Pippin (which was Apple and Namco's failed game console). It's actually a small miracle that this game wasn't "lost" in a compatibility black hole forever.

Basically, everyone here should buy this! This is basically exactly the type of release GOG exists for!
16-bit, but yes.

By the way GOG: <3

This might seem like a silly question, but what's the difference between this one and Turbo? I have extremely fond memories of playing Turbo in my younger days. I'll buy this one regardless, but I'd really love to be able to play JP Turbo again conveniently.

cyboff: but you need to "unpack" GOG installer in wine (which is the main reason linux users are not happy - it could have been e.g. simple zip instead of .exe...)
Use Innoextract.

I'll give this a whirl on ScummVM/Linux when I get home and post directions to the JP forum.

jamyskis: Risen 2 - a former Steam-exclusive - and Pegasus Prime on the same day?

'Scuse me while I wipe up the drool from the floor.
As long as it is your drool that is ok, less pleasant when it is the drool of others :)
Well, this is an unexpected surprise.

Johnmourby: I'm just observing the facts :) Every month at least one person (usually more) will complain that GOG has "Stopped caring about old games!" It was a point often raised in the DLC and regional pricing panics.
While I've never been that guy it has been a while since a classic turned up here (I don't count Risen as a classic. Only Pre-Half-Life 2 games) So even I was getting cornered. Time was there'd be two classic games per-week. It might not be practical want that back (Unreleased classics are only getting rarer) but doesn't make it any less desirable.

JudasIscariot: We haven't given up on old games :) Just remember there are a lot of hurdles to cross to get an older game here. Some of them are technical or legal in nature.

The legal part, surprisingly enough, has been shown to be the easiest part* (see System Shock 2, for example) whereas the technical part can prove to be insurmountable to the point of impossibility (see an Windows 3.x game ever working on a modern system without a licensed OS being used).

*sometimes.
Well that is a surprise. I've never objected to new games here on GOG. Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is one of my favourite games in my catalogue. Assuming you're allowed to talk about it do you have a favourite Indie game on the site?

But it takes little research to show that it's the Wing Commanders, The System Shocks and the endless speculation as to when Lucasarts games will finally arrive that get the folks 'round here really excited.

Good luck with your insurmountable tasks and thanks for always taking the time t get them working right (Unlike the rest of the games industry).
Sweet release! :D GOG is pretty awesome as usual.
Never heard of it before, but might get interested if there is more of that nonsense.

Well, I can't pick just ONE favorite indie game so I'll tell you some of my favorites :)

Sword of the Stars: The Pit
Ether One
Papers, Please
Primordia (well, all the Wadjet Games really but Primordia is my favorite amongst them.)
Rogue Legacy

As you can see, I can't have just one :)
This is probably my happiest day since joining GOG!

.....I might have already bought 3 copies. I think I have a problem.

Note to self. Buy Ether One

I own Primoria and Sword of the Stars: The Pit. Papers Please sounds good but it sounds like something I'd want to play when I have a Lot of free time. Considering I still haven't played The Witcher (blasphemy, I know) that might never happen.

Actually, Papers, Please is easily playable in bite-sized chunks as you can save on any day of the story :)
I love how you guys listen to your community!
Great release!
