So it uses ScummVM and I can run the game on Linux with it, if I buy?

There is a Linux version, Presto is selling DVD versions on their site, though because GOG doesn't yet fully support Linux it might take a while till it's added here.

Crosmando: YES!

But just for informational purposes, Pegasus Prime was a remake of Journeyman Project 1, the original JP1 never came to GOG because it's a Windows 3.x-only 8-bit program and doesn't work on any modern systems. FYI Presto with some help from the folks at ScummVM managed to port this game over to ScummVM even though it was only ever designed for old PowerPC Macs and the Apple Pippin (which was Apple and Namco's failed game console). It's actually a small miracle that this game wasn't "lost" in a compatibility black hole forever.

Basically, everyone here should buy this! This is basically exactly the type of release GOG exists for!
Actually, Journeyman Projecrt 1 is a 16-bit executable and will work fine on modern systems, just not 64-bit ones.

And I suspect that it would have been possible to reverse engineer the first original game (and by extension TJP Turbo) to run under ScummVM on 64-bit OSs, but the effort was probably thought best spent on Pegasus Prime.

Right you are, I guess I meant it's a 16-bit executable, which would not run on 64-bit systems, which GOG requires. It depends if Presto still has the source code for JP1 Turbo or if it was lost. But from what I've read, this is definitely the "definitive" version of JP1 with the best graphics and features.

JP1 Turbo can be played in 64-bit systems though, you need to install Windows 3.x within a DOSBox shell, and then install JP1 within that Win 3.x.

I've seen it, but I don't want to bother with post etc. and would prefer to download, so I just want to be sure, if I can buy the game here, install (via wine) and run it with ScummVM.
Thank you! I was waiting for this! Now only hope we will see mac versions of JP2 and JP3 soon... (and linux versions later this year :P)

You'd have to ask Presto, or GOG support perhaps.

ScummVM has a Linux version, so you should be able to run the game fine without having to resort to Wine :)

There may be some fiddling involved with extracting files and what not but I don't think you'll have any problems :)

but you need to "unpack" GOG installer in wine (which is the main reason linux users are not happy - it could have been e.g. simple zip instead of .exe...)
Every time it looks like GOG has given up on the old games they pull something wonderful from the sands of time (with the occasional Iranian prince to boot)

This looks quite cool. I might pick it up someday.
Holeeeee crap!!! I was just wondering the other day if this game would ever make it to gog. Instabuy!!!
I have to go out this evening, but I'll have my Android tablet with me. Does anyone know if this will work on ScummVM under Android?

(In case people don't know, the individual engines under the Android version of ScummVM are separate)

Why does it cost twice as much as the others?

serpantino: Why does it cost twice as much as the others?
Because twice as much work went into getting it to work on modern systems, probably :)

Keep in mind that I am guessing off-hand on that :)
