The thrilling conclusion to the Blackwell series.

The Blackwell Epiphany, the fifth supernatural murder and mystery story in Wadjet Eye Games old-school point-and-click series with classic 2D graphics and a chilling story, is available on GOG.com for $14.99.

A dead man’s soul cries out against the force of a ferocious blizzard. He cries for help. He cries for answers. Then he screams as he is torn apart like damp tissue paper. This wasn't the first time, and it won’t be the last. The police are powerless to stop it, so the duty falls to the only ones who can. What force could be so powerful--and so malevolent--that it would destroy the very core of a life in order to get what it wants? Rosa Blackwell and Joey Mallone mean to find out, even if it means risking themselves in the process.

The Blackwell Epiphany serves as the fifth and final installment of the supernatural murder-mystery adventure series from Wadjet Eye Games. As usual, the game is a real treat for the fans of classic point-and-click gameplay and traditional hand-crafted 2D graphics. The game is longer than any of the previous ones, and--being the climax to Rosa Blackwell's story--it promises more excitement, drama, and danger. Our heroine and her opacity-impaired partner, the spirit-sleuth Joey Mallone, will face their ultimate challenge. Can you see them safe through it?

Stretch your wrist and warm up your mouse, as you're up for some serious pointing and clicking in The Blackwell Epiphany, for $14.99 on GOG.com.
Blackwell games are short mostly because the puzzles are highly logical, this isn't a bad thing ("logic puzzle" isn't the same as "easy puzzle") and they're entirely story-driven, which is fine too because the stories are always great. I'll get around to playing this one eventually.

Now we just need to somehow convince Mr Gilbert to greenlight Primordia 2 :)

I finished it tonight and it was very decent finale to the solid series. Any adventure games fan should get it.

Mr. Gilbert has nothing to do with Primordia, and I don't think the guys at Wormwood, who developed Primordia, have Dave Gilbert in the highest regard, after practically promoting their game for something it wasn't. I also don't think they want to make a second Primordia, from what I gathered, they're working on a second game, but it's totally unrelated, their Primordia universe got expanded in a novella, and that was it, they want to do different things, now. Different things with a publisher other than Wadjet Eye.

Gilbert is great, and all that, but he gets way too involved on other people's work. The guys at Wormwood Studios wanted to use other voice actors, for instance, but Mr. Gilbert, indie-adventure-dev extraordinaire, has to put Abe Goldfarb in every single game he publishes. Granted, he managed to have Logan Cunningham voice Horatio, but that's the one good thing I can think that came out of his involvement.
I have the others, will pick up this one when it gets a better promo.
G-Doc interviews Dave Gilbert.
I too would like to petition to make the pre-order exclusives available for purchase (as an upgrade for current purchases and as a digital deluxe edition).

My opinion is that giving the extras for free to the most hardcore fans who pre-order is great, but not allowing future fans to obtain them from their preferred digital distributor is not so great and since other game developers did this before (for instance Ether One), there is no real reason to not go the same route.

Colour me intrigued, as I didn't follow the development of Primordia (closely). Can you elaborate a bit on the parts I highlighted? Any sources I can read more on the story?
^im curious about this too. Incidentally, when i finally got around to playing primordia it wasnt what i was expecting... and i absolutely loved it... its one of my favorites now. But im not sure why i thought it was going to be different.

I mostly read about it on Wormwood's facebook page, though there are some hints you can find here on GOG's Primordia subforums. I'm sorry for not being able to provide more accurate sources, but since Wormwood has moved on to other projects, those statements are way back in the page. Feel free to browse for them, though! :P

[EDIT] Also, regarding the voice actors issue, Dave Gilbert himself hints at that during the typical Wadjet Eye's voice-over walkthrough for Primordia.

Thanks for the reply, not a Facebook person myself but I'll keep the link and maybe go through the posts on a boring rainy day.

Hi! Developer Dave here. So just so I understand you correctly... the issue is NOT that I made a pre-order offer, but that the pre-offer items are not available for purchase on GOG? Because I have zero problem with that. I didn't even know that was an option so I didn't think to tell GOG it was okay.

Yes, I would like the option to be able to properly complete my collection and include those extras as well in the future, and personally I don't mind paying a bit extra for this.

I'm sure not all here will agree with my opinion, but I'd rather have the choice to pay a bit more and get the goodies later on, than no choice and no goodies.

Thanks for the response :)

davelgil:
I think they offer certain pre-order bonuses for a bit extra on some of the other games too. I believe Age of Wonders 3 has a soundtrack/extra scenario for a bit extra? Probably not the best example but I'm positive that there are others.

I pre-ordered so my vote probably does not count. =)

Of course it counts, you are showing support for the extras to be sold after the game is released (and not vanish from GOG altogether).

Some examples of digital upgrades (GOG list these as DLC, but they offer NO gameplay, just goodies):
http://www.gog.com/game/ether_one_deluxe_edition_upgrade_dlc
http://www.gog.com/game/divinity_dragon_commander_dlc

And yes, this is rather new for GOG to offer such upgrades, but as long as they are allowing this route for some developers, they should allow this for all.
high rated
Just an update. I asked my contact at GOG if the pre-order bonus extras could be available for purchase here on GOG. Still waiting on a response.
