This is what an actual saga looks like.

The Banner Saga, a unique Viking-themed role-playing game with solid tactical combat mechanics, beautiful 2D graphics that look nothing like any other modern title, and a captivating heart-touching story, is now available 10% off DRM-Free on GOG.com, for Windows and Mac OS X. That's only $22.49 for the first week.

The Banner Saga invites you to live through an epic role-playing Viking saga where your strategic choices directly affect your personal journey. Make allies as you travel with your caravan across this stunning yet harsh landscape. Carefully choose those who will help fight a new threat that jeopardizes an entire civilization. Every decision you make in travel, conversation and combat has a meaningful effect on the outcome as your story unfolds. Not everyone will survive, but they will be remembered. The game offers you with a variety of over 25 playable characters from 2 different races, human and varl, the horned giants, and your choices in combat will have consequences for all whomever you choose to lead into battle. With the beautifully hand drawn combat sequences and animations, accompanied by an evocative score from Grammy-nominated composer Austin Wintory, the game will immerse you into a fantasy realm inspired by Norse mythology. Make sure to pick this one up, as there are very few modern games as original and engrossing as this one.

Embark on one of the most awe-inspiring journeys that modern gaming has to offer, and take a plunge into the beautiful snowy landscape of The Banner Saga, for only $22.49 on GOG.com. The 10% off release discount offer lasts until Tuesday, February 12, at 10:59AM GMT.

Hurrah! Glad to see it here, and I like the tagline you chose. :) Now I just have to decide whether to wishlist or buy for the backlog beast.

I don't think I was one of them, as I have way too many games already. But I do agree with you. :)

I'll probably buy it today anyway, even though I suspect tomorrow's possible release will be hitting my wallet in its equivalent of a solar plexus.
Awe-f*cking-some!

Right. I have the game already, as I'm a backer, and have even started playing it. I'll likely get it here too eventually though.
Hmmm. £23 on Steam or $22.50 here DRM-free...if only I was better at currency translation I would know which to buy

You forgot the irony tags ;-)
Excellent release, been hearing a lot about this game recently, glad to see it finally arrive here!
Sounds like a really interesting game. From what I can see in the pictures the art style is amazing! Wishlisted! So many games, so little time! When will this end!?!?!?!
high rated
Is this a sequel to candy crush saga ?

charbon: Is this a sequel to candy crush saga ?
No. The producers of that game just wanted to make a quick buck and some publicity of this one .

Haha, came here to post this. Guess I was too slow :P

zeffyr: I know, but I mean the price in general. Is it really worth over 20$?
from everything I've heard from reviews and those that played it, yes it is worth it.

I backed this one but didn't keep up to date with the progress of the game, missed that they had gone back to the concept of uploading user banners to their site for inclusion in the game, rather than via the game itself. So I missed getting my banner in. I'll try and make a banner this weekend I hope eventually it will get put in as an update before I get around to playing the game.

My problem is I backed so many games had so many updates I let my email get behind. spent the better part of this last week reading emails and still have 330 unread emails to go.
So the game is finally here, now I will just wait and see what all the ravings were about.

I know the problem, I unsubscribed all of them.
