This is what an actual saga looks like.

The Banner Saga, a unique Viking-themed role-playing game with solid tactical combat mechanics, beautiful 2D graphics that look nothing like any other modern title, and a captivating heart-touching story, is now available 10% off DRM-Free on GOG.com, for Windows and Mac OS X. That's only $22.49 for the first week.

The Banner Saga invites you to live through an epic role-playing Viking saga where your strategic choices directly affect your personal journey. Make allies as you travel with your caravan across this stunning yet harsh landscape. Carefully choose those who will help fight a new threat that jeopardizes an entire civilization. Every decision you make in travel, conversation and combat has a meaningful effect on the outcome as your story unfolds. Not everyone will survive, but they will be remembered. The game offers you with a variety of over 25 playable characters from 2 different races, human and varl, the horned giants, and your choices in combat will have consequences for all whomever you choose to lead into battle. With the beautifully hand drawn combat sequences and animations, accompanied by an evocative score from Grammy-nominated composer Austin Wintory, the game will immerse you into a fantasy realm inspired by Norse mythology. Make sure to pick this one up, as there are very few modern games as original and engrossing as this one.

Embark on one of the most awe-inspiring journeys that modern gaming has to offer, and take a plunge into the beautiful snowy landscape of The Banner Saga, for only $22.49 on GOG.com. The 10% off release discount offer lasts until Tuesday, February 12, at 10:59AM GMT.
This was an instant buy ... already listened to the soundtrack for a week and cannot wait to play this ... thanks GoG that I, again, won´t need that stupid Steam to play good mac games !!!!!
low rated
Instawishlist. But the price is a little bit radical, isn't it?

Great. Now this game was released, and now I can't play it on account of the new ice age and the minor problem of no electricity since last week. Also, my mobile is about to die out soon, so goodbye to all for about another week.

I know, but I mean the price in general. Is it really worth over 20$?

Nice! I've been waiting eagerly for this one to arrive here. Perfect timing for me too, as I just finished Blackguards. Insta-buy!

Silverhawk170485: Did they say that backers will get GOG keys?
avatar
Niggles: Correction they have download link for KS backers up for a direct download, the dev posted it on the drm free thread on Stoic forum. But aside from that, no mention of gog etc..
Yep, must say I'm a bit irritated about this.

I helped Kickstart it, the game was over a year later releasing than they originally said as they spent so much time on a separate combat game, and then when the game was released all I got was a Steam key even though they'd promised the game was going to be DRM-free.

I know we're supposed to get the game on GOG as well, but you'd think they would have sorted this out with GOG before releasing it here.

The game looks great but, at this rate, I'll never know for sure :)

What's wrong with playing the DRM-free copy you can download as a backer?
you could have mentioned that the game includes (the dmg file for mac users) the 29 song soundtrack that normally costs 9 euro at amazon ;)

nice nice

No installer. Just the zipped game. I prefer to properly install my games.
And there is some bonus content with the GOG version.

People should be looking for it, thank you for the link, this OST is amazing! A must buy for audiophiles.

I'm really not into tactical turn-based RPGs or Norse mythology, but the animation and music alone make me want to buy this game, as ridiculous as that may sound.

On a side note, buying this game on GOG is actually cheaper for me than buying it off of Steam, because of the regional pricing and currency exchange rates. The Portuguese Steam page does the terrible $5=€5 thing, whereas GOG adjusts currency.
