A song unlike any other.

The Ballads of Reemus: When the Bed Bites, a comedic fantasy adventure with cartoon graphics and peculiar humor, telling the story of a spiritual predecessor of all of the QA specialists in the gaming industry, is available on GOG.com for only $4.99.

Out of all the clients I ever had Reemus stands out like a unicorn in a hog pen. Or, to be more precise, like a hog in a unicorn meadow. Don't get me wrong--he was a swell guy and all, trying to be remembered by the future generations, like we all do. The problem was, that by any account he should have been known as Reemus the Unremarkable. I mean, when you're just a simple bug-catcher it's not easy to catch a break at fame. Especially, if your dragon-slaying brother hogs the spotlight all for himself. Sure, bedbugs bug everyone in the kingdom, while a dragon will only munch on some sheep and an occasional virgin every now and then, but still--slaying one dragon gets you famous, while squishing a billion insects only gets you a pint of mead and a warm dinner. Not fair? That did not stop my friend Reemus, though. He took a chance and got the best minstrell in the kingdom to immortalize his deeds. He got me. Liam the Purple, the most gifted bard of the bearkind. his deeds. Turns out, his deeds weren't as insignificant as anyone thought, and I made damn sure to immortalize the heck out of them.

The Ballads of Reemus: When the Bed Bites is a fun adventure game inteligently making use of popular fantasy tropes to tell an unlikely story of a man whose destiny was not to become a hero. With fully voice-acted dialog, nice cartoon graphics, tons of good lighthearted humor, optional side-quests, and many clever puzzles, this little adventure gem is guaranteed to bring a smile on your face. Full MP3 soundtrack included!

Help one motivated bug-catcher to secure the place he deserves in folk legends and the songs sung by the tavern fireplace in The Ballads of Reemus: When the Bed Bites, for only $4.99 on GOG.com.

Erich_Zann: Unless I overlooked something in my quick check : three RPGs (Shadowrun, Wasteland and Entomorph) in the last 33 games. Yeah we're flooded alright.
Edit : yeah, forgot Kult if you want it to count it. 4 in 33. To the ark !
BloodNet? Sword of the Stars: The Pit - Gold Edition?

Wasn't Sword of the Stars in the catalogue for a while, and just got some DLC ?
Bloodnet is a RPG now ? The definitions sure changed over the last fifteen years.

Yes, the Wizardry series was around September I think, Driftmoon was a while back I think, a bit longer than 6 months IIRC, Thunderscape was a bit after Wizardry.

Keep in mind I don't keep the exact dates in my head :P
Now this looks like something I might want to buy, ecpecially at this price :)
What kind of humor is it? Sam'n'Max crazy-wacky style ?

Well, it's not a full fledged RPG but it's got some of the mechanics of one namely the turn-based combat and the character stats :)
Go Reemus! At least the free flash games of the 'series' are awesome. Don't know how Reemus and his adventures fit to be games that cost though.

Sword of the Stars: The Pit - Gold Edition does add a few more stuff compared to the base version, though you can upgrade it through the DLCs. If a Gold Edition counts as a new release or not, your call.
As for BloodNet, this doesn't seem like an adventure to me, even if the game may have adventure elements.

The rule of thumb I use to say if a game is an RPG is whether you can modify your stats or not. In more recent years, it has been moved to RPG Elements, depending on how much the stats matter.

As for the release dates, you still haven't bookmarked this?

Sweet spreadsheet! However, it looks like we now need to add a "genre" column too ;)
