Tex Murphy has entered the building!

Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure marks the triumphant return of everyone's favorite trenchcoat wearing, fedora bearing private detective, Tex Murphy! Thanks to the power of Kickstarter and legions of devoted fans, Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure is available now--DRM-free on GOG.com--for $19.99! (We're so happy about this that some of us are squeeing like little girls!)

The year is 2050. The place: New San Francisco. Someone has made sure that our rough-around-the-edges hero has forgotten the events of the last seven years. What appears to be the world's worst hangover is just the beginning of Tex's troubles as he tries to recollect just what the hell happened. Stuck in a maze of unsolved murders and hidden agendas, Tex must solve the mystery of his own past and that of the lost technologies of Nikola Tesla. Can Tex regain his memory in time to restore what's been lost and stop a terrifying future?

If you have a hankering for old-fashioned FMV with a modern flavor, sleuthing while dropping some pithy one-liners, then look no further than Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure available NOW on PC and Mac, DRM-free for $19.99 on GOG.com!

Important notice!
The Tex Murphy Video Contest is now CLOSED. We are drowning under a torrent of awesome entries and we will announce the winners soon!
You mention videos, but no video on-hand of GOG staff engaged in the aforementioned squeeing....? Ah well, maybe later. (Hopefully.)
Anyway, great looking game, very much looking forward to it.
Just got home and am installing. It has been a very long wait.
SQUEEE!

Although I haven´t backed this one, I completely understand the squeeing part and I do rejoice with my fellow co-backers - I will be squeeing just like this with Wasteland 2/Tides of Numenera and Pillars of Eternity.

It is unbelievable feeling when game you waited for so long, is finally here.

Damn, should have pre-ordered this here instead of backing it on Kickstarter... Now I'm apparently stuck with a Steam code I have no use for.
should we expect more Atlus?

What's up with all you people whining? Steam itself won't kill you. The bad stuff about Steam, is that they have full control over your account but the Steam version is DRM free I heard so you can run it without Steam even being turned on so what's the big deal then?

Same here.

I asked them if they will at least put up a standalone-installer on the Mutant League Download-page.

Still waiting for a reply to that.
GOG ! Stop releasing things outside of the proper release date, you're making me feel bad ! :((
I wish I had a key for a digital retailer, any would do ;)
I can't do Kickstarters so I don't have a key, so now I'll just wait a bit and see how this is received.
As a Tex fan of course I'm really hopeful that it's going to be awesome.

Eating shit won't kill me either. I still wouldn't do it, even if someone promised me a free game for it.

Don't take no for an answer! The gog keys were apparently sent to BFG hours ago, so either there's some sort of major misunderstanding, or something fishy is going on.

and as usual - for those who pre-ordered it here and see game shelf with no installer in it - refresh your account by clicking here: https://secure.gog.com/account/refresh

GOG is aware of the missing installers and working on it according to their Twitter. I'm pretty sure we backers get the GOG and Steam version. Don't forget that they promised a DLC, DDT and DRM-free game.

Thanks. I manually reloaded and it did nothing, but that link worked. Time to start the download.

The developers have said the Steam version is DRM free, and all backer keys are Steam keys.

Ah, so you're one of the lucky beta testers? I'm not talking about the installers, I (and all other backers below beta tester level) haven't even received a gog key yet. Some admin over at the BFG forum claims that "all the keys have been sent out" (Steam keys, that is) and he is not aware of any plans to send out additional gog codes. Emails asking for a Steam/gog exchange have been brushed off.
