Enjoying it. And credit to the anonymous modder, Kolya & the gang for keeping the community alive. Even some of their stuff already included in GOG build, which is awesome by the way.

I tried playing the game with the old school DirectX 6 graphic, and it was unplayable. In fact, the performance is worse than the new upgraded Direct3D 9 graphic.

Lodium: In what list?
I have seen people talk about lists before.
Sales lists and whatnot but i fail to find them.
avatar
htown1980: On the front page, near the top 10 games, you can click on "view all 513 games" or something, then there is a bit that says "browse games by XXX". I think one option is date added, another is best selling. Choose best selling. Voila! :)
Ah, i see.
I feel stupid now, lol.
Either that or i was totally blind.

Thanks.

Now it's at 58. Soon it I'll be in the top fifty.

Hear hear. :)

I just wish some on the shock forums wouldn't be so rude about the GOG release(Some think GOG stole the modder's work and used it to make the GOG release of SS2.....whether this is true or not I wonder if they've even considered the fact that GOG couldn't legally acknowledge them[At least not directly/obviously] even if they wanted to[For obvious reasons.].). :\
It's modding community. Some of them can be really fanatic.

For example, the file creator was much more calm about the situation even though he admitted it kinda left a bad taste. However, the same can't be said to the community in general. Some of them really got melodramatic and try to stir some baseless accusation.

I wish there would be a modern remake of sorts - the same depth but with updated graphics, improved combat and maybe some more interaction with the world. I'd love for a game to do that.

This happens more times than I care to admit(on forums across the web and on every topic one might think up) or acknowledge.

For all we know Night Dive and the chaps who made the 2.4 patch(NewDark) are one and the same(or related in some way), and they gave GOG permission to use it in their version of the game. Yet people sling accusations without much proof to back their claims.

The SS2 sub-forum actually has a thread on how to mod the game, and it includes patches/mods one can apply to improve the graphics & sound(some are purist mods/patches[which just improve the resolution/quality of the various textures and music], and there are others that change things while improving the look & feel of the game.). :)

I already own the original System Shock 2 CD (my Dad bought it when it came out) and I really want to get the bonus content without buying the game again for $10. PLEASE tell me if there's some other way. Else I'll seriously consider buying it again.

Well that's nice, but your original CD won't help you. Buy it now or wait for a sale. :) And welcome at GOG.
Great, another game on my backlog I probably won't be able to play unless my "Random Roulette Wheel" allows me to do so. This HAD to come out the same weekend that the Gothic series goes on sale. 8-\
Even the announcements for this game are terrifying: The corruption in the message resolves into "Remember Citadel!" in binary.
Thank you GoG, I now fear for my life!

On an unrelated note, I've been trying to extract the HTML code of the SHODAN animation on the front page but can't figure out what keeps the green pulses repeating. Any ideas? (I know jack-shit of html or js)

yeah they did that as part of a unannounced giveaway where the first person to find the hidden message in the description won a free copy of the game.

It's a combination of and [url=http://static.gog.com/adhoc/2013_system_spot/spot.css]CSS. To simplify: each second, one randomly selected wire in each wire group gets a new CSS class (from Javascript) which makes it perform an animation. Once the animation stops, the class is set back to the original one.
