Now I know where that Killing Floor character is from.
Guys, help. I made an account specifically for buying this, good job resurrecting it by the way. Thing is, it doesn't work.

It starts just fine, no error notifications, video cutscenes work, but as soon as I start the new game, all I get is a black screen with a very small square in the top right. The game apparently works, since I can hear my footsteps if I try to move and the voice of the announcer in the beginning, but I can't see anything apart for the small square (part of the background can be seen moving trough it). Changing resolution or restarting the system had no effect. I haven't seen anything this weird before.

Spec are Win 7 Asus laptop, w/ nVidia GeForce 540M.

Please help, I would be very disapponted in finding that the game doesn't run on newer machines even tought I played it perfectly fine on a previous XP laptop.

Since I'm new I don't know if this is the right thread on the site or not for this sort of thing.
Man, it has been forever since I've been aboard the Rickenbacker, but tonight I'm going back. I just love how the name "Rickenbacker" flows across the tongue like a river. Rickenbacker.

DaCostaBR: But people rarely talk about the first System Shock

Daedolon: It's because of all the hype, and these COD kids don't know how to play a game that doesn't run with WASD+mouselook straight out of the box.

I'm tired of answering the second question, though.
A lot of people already asked, huh? I only checked back to page 9 so I must have missed them.

I haven't tried many old FPS's, the closest I've played was Tex Murphy: Under a Killing Moon, which was good, but the controls were atrocious and to my knowledge there aren't any mods changing them.

From what I've heard I think I'll just play System Shock 2 straight away, if I like it I'll go back and try the first and won't worry about the controls until the time comes.

Have you tried running it as administrator? All the problems I've had with GOG games were fixed like that.

Ah, not today, no. I'm just tired of convincing people to try the original game when all I hear is bickering about the controls and the difficulty, let alone the graphics.

I choose storyline and atmosphere over streamlined content any day.

Seriously, though, one can only imagine what sort of income will come from this. Hopefully, enough to bring in the first System Shock and some other well-wished titles.

You should sent a ticket to gog customer support. They are normally very quick to respond
