Good game

Leroux: Did you take notice of the RPS interview? Of course, it's not exactly what you ask for, but probably the most you'll get.
Thanks Leroux, I haven't read that, thought it was just an announcement of the release.
And I agree, that is probably as much insight as we'll get.

DaCostaBR: Alright, I'll bite, I'm buying this.

But people rarely talk about the first System Shock and I never played that, should I play that one first or go straight for System Shock 2?
SS1 is pretty old school. Watch some SS1 gameplay and if you think you can handle that, play it first.

That said, I thought SS1 was the better game, all things considered, but not by much.
yet another reason why I love GOG, the community and of course the games.

The control modifications in System Shock Portable help LOADS to make the game feel less archaic. In fact, with better controls it's really surprising how fresh it still feels in some ways.
I've played too many "timeless classic, they sure don't make 'em like this any more!" games that ended up being massive disappointments, so I'm trying to keep my expectations at a modest level. Yet, I can't help but be really excited by this; it sounds so much like the type of game I'd love.

That's how I used to play silent hill. Sans headphones. Late at night. Lights out, sound up and the occasional reassuring glance over at the car or dog. -__-
