Does anyone know if whe have to install the ss2_v24 patch on top of the SS2 install ?
Dont think so from what ive seen it ships with the fan patch NEW DARK already installed. Pity they didnt acknowledge that... patch notes in a subfolder
Thank you!

I would really love to learn more about how this game finally ended up here. Since it was literally cast into the license hell. So dear people at gog, if you could share any infos with us on how this deal was finally made possible.

My personal theory is that gog is in reality behind this new Studio so they could acquire the license.

Edit: I found the link to the article on Rock, Paper, Shotgun. But still, feel free to share any other infos if you can.

Nope, the new studio stands behind itself and has blown all its money on SS2 license so they can make more money off that - with goal of getting even more games out of license hell. Pretty clever.

Pidgeot: If you only take those parts and decode them correctly, you get a secret message.

The decoded message reads "Remember Citadel!".
A $9.99 bonus code heading your way.

Awesome, finally I can have a chance to play this game at an affordable price. :)

Also the little Shodan animation you guys did on the homepage rocks! Would be awesome if someone could gif that for us.

you guys just love to mess with us, don't you?
This might have been asked before, but how is the multiplayer function in SS2? How does it work, is it fun, does it make the game easier/harder?
Wow, just wow. You guys never stop surprising me. Awesome release. Wishlisted for now.

lukew: That's really good to know. I'm downloading it now, I'll try it out on my trusty netbook when it's done downloading. :)

Stooner: Good luck and have fun then! o/
Well, I installed it, tried to launch the game and got this error: Unable to locate or load d3dx9_43.dll. It's ok if nothing can be done about this. I didn't expect it to work on my netbook anyway. Still, I'm a little disappointed.
Simply Awesome

FAButzke: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/02/13/many-questions-system-shock-2-comes-to-gog/

"Kick: Bioshock was definitely more approachable for console gamers, and I think if they had made the game as challenging as System Shock it would have alienated that market. It’s difficult to keep everyone happy these days when the success of a game is determined by units sold or a Metacritic score. Ultimately, I hope that introducing SS2 to new gamers will inspire them to expect more from their gaming experiences."

There. All the problems with todays gaming industry in one sentence. Well said, Stephen Kick, well said.

Bottom line:
Idiots. Idiots everywhere.

Install DirectX 9.0c ? That should do the trick I think.

Try searching for this .dll, and put it on the installation folder...
