Why has everyone their panties in a twist about this one? Sure it's pretty gimmicky but it looks fun (I'd rather play this than arcania too)

RS1978: They declined Arcania

timppu: What? When did they do that?

Edit: I do really hope the responsable guys at GOG will change their mind, due Arcania is a rather enjoyable Action RPG with fantastic visuals.

And here I am trying to push the fecking play button on the video in the screencap. It's too early in the morning for this shit GOG. -__-
This Surgeon Simulator reminds me a bit about Life and Death and its sequel, both classic games whose gameplay has not been repeated in games since then. Performing surgeries was fun, and there was medical stuff to learn, even though it was simplistic by real-life standards.

TurnipSlayerr: Sorry guys, that was a bit of a premature release, perhaps we should seek medical advice for our problem. Check back in at 3pm and we'll be good to go again. ;)

Don't worry about the classic release either.
Singular, so just one classic release? What happened to the whole 'us expanding the market won't mean you get less classic games a week' statement. (Paraphrasing.) We used to get 2 a week. This is one of the key reasons why some of us were unkeen on gog expanding into indie games/modern retail that are available everywhere else. I know some people are obsessive over drm but I only came to gog for the good old games.

Let's hope they (and Guild 2 etc.) come here. I wonder why GOG wouldn't "approve" them? The publisher wants a bigger cut than what GOG is giving to other publishers, or want GOG to include some form of DRM, or whatever?

Well, that's what they promised to Keevek earlier: one classic release per week.

So blame Keevek. :)

If JMich's excels are to believed, the amount of classic releases has not gone down, especially not being halved.

But if you are obsessive over old games and don't mind DRM, I think Steam is also selling old games nowadays.

All the DRM from Arcania was removed with a patch by now, so I don't think this would be a problem.
Lol, nice release GOG!

Oh, wait.
Wait, GOG going to release Surgeon Sim? GAH! Why I bought it on Steam then?

LOL. I used to come on every Tuesday & Thursday eager to see what the new classic release was, now it's frequently disappointing because it's just an influx of indie games that've usually been readily available elsewhere for some time or a more modern game with pretty uncompetitive pricing.

Steam is now releasing a lot of classics too and they even have some gog has yet to get. currently I'm holding out for gog to get them as I want my gog to be my go to for old games but at the rate they're going, they may just lose my business to steam which is my go to for modern and indie (I don't like things strewn about too many providers.)

Edit: Just saw your edit but yeah steam is going to hit gog hard if they don't pull their finger out.
