Beating back some balance into the world.

Sudeki, a vibrant anime-ish action-RPG with exciting real-time battles and a robust character development system, is available on GOG.com for only $5.99.

Sudeki, a world torn apart into light, shadow and dark. Rent asunder by deceit and betrayal, the land cries out for a peace that only four united heroes can bring. Beyond the protective walls of Illumina Castle lie miles of pastoral, rolling countryside, though once a serene landscape, the Aklorian forces have transformed the countryside into a charred battlefield. Simply passing through the region is unsafe, as travellers must be ever alert for ambushes. Four friends have joined together to aid their queen. Though destined to encounter ancient gods, primordial wonders, and marvellous inventions, foes and betrayal haunt their every step. A keen eye could prove vital, exposing essential clues. And as the companions make their way through darkness and light, they’ll discover that those two extremes have more in common than they once imagined… With real-time, bone-crunching combat with incredible spells and combos, the ability to control any one of the four champions at any time, and skip between them at will, and the power to customize each character's armor, weapons, and spells and evolve new powerful attacks, this colorful action-RPG title is a real blast to play!

When Europeans experiment with the anime aesthetics interesting things happen, and Sudeki is a perfect example of that rule. Check it out, for only $5.99 on GOG.com.

Elmofongo: Claasic enough for me heck I considered 2005 the final decade of relevant PC gaming. With games including:

F.E.A.R.
Battlefield 2
Indigo Prophecy Pc version
Jade Empire PC version
Dungeon Siege II
San Andreas PC version
Age of Empires III

Crosmando: To be honest all those games look new-ish to me.
These games are actually from 2005 though they are still heavilly played.

deonast: I'd go with those ratings

Niggles: Why no 0/10 ? :P
Ah lol true, I forgot about 0, but you get the idea ;P
Yay, nice release. Haven't played this one in ages (almost ten years, heh - time is a bitch). Remember quitting it rather early because I just couldn't beat a certain boss - that Fable was released on PC at the same time when I was playing Sudeki didn't help either. :P

Still, I have fond memories of this game. Kinda reminded me of Phantasy Star Online on Dreamcast just... without the online. Will gladly give it another try now that it's been released on GOG and I just can't find my disc (got the game from a gaming mag). Maybe I'll get past that nasty boss this time...

Maighstir: But how does that rate between rotary phones and comfy chairs, is it closer to the taste of orange than to grindy noise?
It's placed in the middle between old phones and chairs. It's defiantly closers to the taste of orange than to grindy noise however.
Well for me classics are games from the 90s. Older then that are retro (c64, atari and such). Everything after 2000 are new games for me.
Doesn't anyone else keeps having sudoku in mind with this?

Seems like a decent game i once again never heard of.
Will probably get it if this job goes through, and have some money for a change.

rtcvb32: Hmmm I have the impression a lot of games from the XBox and PS2 are going to be ported to PC soon and be much like this game, accessible so the game isn't lost due to no longer supported hardware.

hunvagy: I wish you'd be right. Would love to see the MegaTen games of the PS2 generation on the PC. And Valkyrie Profile 2 \o/
I think this game was released for PC in 2005, it was not ported recently.
Anyway, I'd love if PlayStation 2 and Dreamcast games (and even PSX games!) were ported to PC (or at least released with a really nice emulator), specially beat'em ups, fighters and RPGs, like the MegaTen games, Soul Calibur, Marvel vs Capcom, Resident Evil, Project Justice (Rival Schools), Tekken, Zombie Hunters 2 (Oneechanbara 2), Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (the 90's 2D fighter) ... So many great games!

Isn't there a PC version of Rival Schools? Or was I playing that one MAME... was probably MAME. The PS1 and the PS2 by now have competent emulators. I myself play my PS2 games with PCSX 2, nicely upscaled to 1080p.

Same here pretty much, though I would consider Baldur's Gate II (2000) and Arcanum (2001) to be classics, they're very much late 90's RPGs that just happened to get made a bit late. But I guess everyone has their own arbitrary standards of "classic" though, but to me when I see mid-2000's-ish 3D graphics I just can't think of it as classic. Blocky 3D graphics or 3D with sprites though sure, but it's probably just nostalgia speaking.

Yeah, its like Emperor: Battle for dune (2001) that is a classic for me :) I know classics are bordline stuff but I would not call anything from 2005 a classic.

Well this my list of classic PC gaming:

My default list: 1980 to 2005

A stretch list is classic PC gaming ending in 2007 with Crysis.

And my lowest end is 2000. (Sorry Arcanum)

Lodium: Its old as long as you cant find it in normal retail shops, cant find it annywere, at least here.
it migth be in second hand shops but i woud say that doesnt count.
Ebay and amazon doesnt count either since they are net shops and not Normal retail shops.
Woud say this is clearly an old game and therefore a classic.

Niggles: Just because a game is old you classify it automatically as a classic?
Well, that was my argument the last time there was a debate about this.
Alot of people was arguing against it even when i had logical reasons that all games that were old werent classic so i gave up on that stance.

If you ask me Classic games are only those games liked by many, and can stand the test of time + a few more reasons
even new games can achive classic status if they are groundbreaking enough.
so after i mulled it over i came to the conclusion that the term classic about a game is more based on opinions.
What may be a classic for me does not have to be a classic for somone else.

Forexample theres alot of atari games that are 30 years old
can these be considered as classics even if they are bad?
For me the answer is no, there was alot of crappy games on Atari i woudnt in my wildest fantasys call classic
so those are for me just old and wery bad games.

Was only wandering... i personally couldn't see games like Bad Rats or Revelations 2012 being *classics* in no shape or form in 15-20 years... :D
Never played this one, how's the difficulty and combat? Is combo-based?
