Beating back some balance into the world.

Sudeki, a vibrant anime-ish action-RPG with exciting real-time battles and a robust character development system, is available on GOG.com for only $5.99.

Sudeki, a world torn apart into light, shadow and dark. Rent asunder by deceit and betrayal, the land cries out for a peace that only four united heroes can bring. Beyond the protective walls of Illumina Castle lie miles of pastoral, rolling countryside, though once a serene landscape, the Aklorian forces have transformed the countryside into a charred battlefield. Simply passing through the region is unsafe, as travellers must be ever alert for ambushes. Four friends have joined together to aid their queen. Though destined to encounter ancient gods, primordial wonders, and marvellous inventions, foes and betrayal haunt their every step. A keen eye could prove vital, exposing essential clues. And as the companions make their way through darkness and light, they’ll discover that those two extremes have more in common than they once imagined… With real-time, bone-crunching combat with incredible spells and combos, the ability to control any one of the four champions at any time, and skip between them at will, and the power to customize each character's armor, weapons, and spells and evolve new powerful attacks, this colorful action-RPG title is a real blast to play!

When Europeans experiment with the anime aesthetics interesting things happen, and Sudeki is a perfect example of that rule. Check it out, for only $5.99 on GOG.com.

xxxIndyxxx: It's really fun, plays a bit like Fable or 3D Zelda games. Has good graphics. Nothing too special or groundbreaking but a solid 8/10 for me
... and that's why rating systems don't work. "Nothing special or groundbreaking. You know, it's fine. 80%."
This looks like a lot of fun!

I know but if I give it a 6 or 7 in these days people would think it's bad ;) If i score something it is usually a score based on how much fun I had and not based on individual components...so it's a lot more subjective.
Great release :)
Thank you GOG!

EDIT: Just watched the trailer...That trailer is terrible if you are on the fence: don't watch the trailer :D
I can't help thinking of Jade Empire when I look at it - how does it compare to that one?
LOVE Fable and 3D Zelda so wishlisted here!

That says more about the rater than the rating system itself. Remember when Amiga Power rated some Team 17 games an average (5/10) and Team 17 threw a hissfit because they actually considered 7/10 to be an average?

Hmm it plays a lot more like fable the it does like jade empire. I wouldn't really compare it to jade empire to be honest, but to be fair I only played a small part of jade empire (a couple of hours) because I got annoyed that normal was way too easy and hard way to hard ;)
That cover, lol. Almost puts X-Blades to shame. :D

Anyway, why are there so few and so vague screenshots? Looks more like some generic screenshots offered by the publisher than some actual playthrough by a member of the GOG staff ... In any case, they don't give a good impression about actual gameplay. Well, at least the trailer offers a few seconds of gameplay footage, I guess. ;)

Niggles: Looks interesting. Anyone played it before that can give us a mini review of the game? (never heard of it before tbh)
Hmm let's see... (without any spoilers)
As far as I remember it's open-world, BUT not in the way of a TES game. The map is open, but you can only walk on roads :P
There are 4 playeable characters. You control 1, that "leads" the group. In fights (real time), you control the leader, the others are being controlled by AI. If you pick a ranged char you fight in FPS mode, if you control a meelee char you fight in third peson, with (possible) combo moves.
Ranged weapons are either: shoot fast, but weak dmg, of shoot slow, but huge dmg.

Bosses are always 1vs1, and they always require a bit of a brainwork/strategy to defeat.
Monsters spawn on specific areas you enter on the road, and you can not leave the area until you've killed them all.

You can collect totems (4/char) and offer them, to get a strong weapon (4 total).

I don't really remember the story, but I remember that I liked it a lot, and it has many places to explore, like a shadow plane, or a steampunk-like city :)
I must say, though this game is definitely going on my wishlist, the trailer and paltry screenshots on the gamecard are vague to the point of offputting.
The Steam version supports XP. This does not?

Thank you very much for that :). Still considering buying it (wishlisting at the least) :)

I played and finished it 9 years ago (damn, how time flies, I still have it on my xbox). I remember it as quite enjoyable with an entertaining combat-system which made leveling bearable (although the game was quite easy so you don't really have to grind). Storywise and artistically, it's not groundbreaking but overall, it's a good rpg which avoided big flaws to give a good experience of approximatively 30-40 hours. Recommended.
I remember playing a little bit of this one. Maybe I'll try again one of these days, right now it goes to the wishlist.
It was fun, and plays better with a gamepad, I think...

"Climax Studios"... so, Rocket Knight next week?
