Shadow of Chernobyl + Clear Sky + Call of Pripyat up to 70% off!

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, the phenomenally immersive FPS survival horror series set in the terrifyingly believable radioactive "Zone" surrounding the explosion site of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, is available up to 70% off on GOG.com. That's only $14.97 for the set of three for the next 72 hours.

Not many people truly understand what it means to be a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. We're Scavengers, Trespassers, Adventurers, Loners, Killers, Explorers, and Robbers. Basically, what each of us is, is a bit of a soldier, a bit of a thief, a bit of a hunter, a bit of a nutjob, and a full-time basterd. Imagine what's happening in our heads. The Zone is calling for us ahead, new locations and unknown threats, spatial holes and monsters hiding in the fog, pitch-black nights and saving rays of a rising sun. You try to avoid anomalies and hide from blowouts, discover the Zone and collect artifacts, cure radioactive irradiation and fight for any stalker faction you like! This is the life, right? If only it didn't end so promptly, ever so often.

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series delivers one of the most immersive and enthralling experiences in the history of first-person shooters. Calling it a "shooter", however, might be a bit of a stretch. The games' focus leans mostly towards exploration and stealth. In most cases, it's best to avoid encounters rather than face the dangers head-on. The Chernobyl exclusion zone is full of things that could kill you in an eyeblink. Strange creatures, physics-defying phenomena, not to mention the other men bold or insane enough to venture into the heart of eastern-european Twilight Zone. The competition is ruthless, as the prizes are great--the fascinating artifacts found in the forbidden land yield unbelievable prizes on the black market. If you think you have what it takes to become one of the fabled S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s, the whole story of the Chernobyl Zone opens before you: the original Shadow of Chernobyl, the prequel Clear Sky, and the sequel Call of Pripyat. All three games come with high-quality soundtracks encoded in lossless FLAC format.

For the next 72 hours, that is until Sunday, February 9, at 10:59 GMT, you can get the entire S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series 70% off, that is for only $14.97. Separately, the games come with 50% off discount for that time.

EDIT:
Now, that the release special offer has expired, the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games are priced at $19.99, $9.99, and $19.99 for Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Pripyat respectively. A permanent 20% off series discount still applies, if you get all three at the same time.
I just spent a few minutes playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat, I do believe I'm going to enjoy this series.
This is so cool. Just yesterday I was thinking..."man, I really miss STALKER after getting rid of my boxed copies in a big clear out 18 months ago." And then a few hours later you send me an email highlighting this release promo. Thanks Gog!
Let's bring other GSC Game World titles to GOG:

adamhm: Hmm, there are some issues with two of the tracks in the Shadow of Chernobyl soundtrack provided here (both FLAC and MP3 versions): The end of track 12 is cut off and track 13 begins with the cut off part from track 12.

Also for anyone interested, there are additional tracks from the Shadow of Chernobyl OST available for download (unfortunately only in MP3 format)
While I think of it, GSC also released an early beta build of STALKER which I think some others here might be interested in playing around with. How much of a fps is STALKER? I is it like F3 or more like Borderlands?

It's definitely an FPS. The game doesn't have any character skills, stats, levels, etc. - so if you hit the enemy or not is entirely in your hands.
It also prides itself on very realistic gun mechanics, ballistics and physics.

On the other hand, stealth and sneaking will most of the time be a better tactic than engaging the enemies directly.

The STALKER series is like neither of those, really :P The STALKER games are mostly FPS, with RPG elements.

It's an FPS but not an over the top one like Borderlands as most of the weapons are modeled after real world versions, AFAIK. In the STALKER games it pays to not go in all guns blazing as the enemies know how to take headshots. Also, the atmosphere is not at all like Fallout 3 as it's not really post-apoc, although it feels like it at first, as there is a government outside the Zone, mostly implied or hinted at, and you trade using real world money (rubles).
Thanks guys, I'll sleep a night to make up my mind.

JudasIscariot: Yes, we are done working for the day but I believe there will be someone take care of some support requests Saturday :)
Didn't hear from anyone, so bought again so the person they were for didn't have to. Also found another problem with checkout at the same time, so if you can take a look at support ticket BZ132IM7 it would be appreciated.

I don't work in Support so I don't have access to tickets, sorry. I am sure everything will work out :)
Can it be that this is one of the best selling releases ever on this site? These games been up for only two days and they already made it half way through the bestselling list. Wow!

I've always described it as an FPS that's paced like an RPG. It's mostly standard FPS play but you "level up" by scavenging for better equipment or by doing missions to earn money to buy better stuff. It's also more deliberate about its gun-fighting - a headshot will put you down as surely as it will your enemies, and the AI is generally very aggressive about flanking you and keeping you down with cover fire, so good positioning is important. Occasionally you'll also have random elements involved, like packs of wild, mutated dogs entering the area and attacking either you or the enemy.

Modelled, perhaps, but their behaviour (e.g. recoil, rubber barrels, rapidly breaking, and bullets apparently disappearing in mid air) doesn't bear much resemblance to real guns. The playable character has such weak wrists that I could probably empty the entire magazine of the real pistol in the time he takes to recover from the recoil of a single shot. And, unlike him, I could certainly hit the bad guys reliably from ten feet away.

Three games for $15 is worth it even if you only play a few hours, but, IMHO, the weapons were one of the worst parts of SoC. Maybe they improved in the later games that I didn't play.
The English voice-overs in COP aren't anything to brag about from what little I've heard so far. This "howdy" and "howdy ho" stuff is over the top too.
