Shadow of Chernobyl + Clear Sky + Call of Pripyat up to 70% off!

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, the phenomenally immersive FPS survival horror series set in the terrifyingly believable radioactive "Zone" surrounding the explosion site of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, is available up to 70% off on GOG.com. That's only $14.97 for the set of three for the next 72 hours.

Not many people truly understand what it means to be a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. We're Scavengers, Trespassers, Adventurers, Loners, Killers, Explorers, and Robbers. Basically, what each of us is, is a bit of a soldier, a bit of a thief, a bit of a hunter, a bit of a nutjob, and a full-time basterd. Imagine what's happening in our heads. The Zone is calling for us ahead, new locations and unknown threats, spatial holes and monsters hiding in the fog, pitch-black nights and saving rays of a rising sun. You try to avoid anomalies and hide from blowouts, discover the Zone and collect artifacts, cure radioactive irradiation and fight for any stalker faction you like! This is the life, right? If only it didn't end so promptly, ever so often.

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series delivers one of the most immersive and enthralling experiences in the history of first-person shooters. Calling it a "shooter", however, might be a bit of a stretch. The games' focus leans mostly towards exploration and stealth. In most cases, it's best to avoid encounters rather than face the dangers head-on. The Chernobyl exclusion zone is full of things that could kill you in an eyeblink. Strange creatures, physics-defying phenomena, not to mention the other men bold or insane enough to venture into the heart of eastern-european Twilight Zone. The competition is ruthless, as the prizes are great--the fascinating artifacts found in the forbidden land yield unbelievable prizes on the black market. If you think you have what it takes to become one of the fabled S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s, the whole story of the Chernobyl Zone opens before you: the original Shadow of Chernobyl, the prequel Clear Sky, and the sequel Call of Pripyat. All three games come with high-quality soundtracks encoded in lossless FLAC format.

For the next 72 hours, that is until Sunday, February 9, at 10:59 GMT, you can get the entire S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series 70% off, that is for only $14.97. Separately, the games come with 50% off discount for that time.

EDIT:
Now, that the release special offer has expired, the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games are priced at $19.99, $9.99, and $19.99 for Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Pripyat respectively. A permanent 20% off series discount still applies, if you get all three at the same time.
Hell yes! Awesome games + complete series + 70% off upon release = Instabuy like I never instabought before (with the possible exception of System Shock 2)

I can't tell you how happy I am that the complete series was released, rather than spreading it out over several weeks!

edit: Oh yeah, in all my instabuying I forgot to check the bonus content available. Turns out it is simply... orgasmic! OSTs for all three games, how awesome is that?!

edit 2: Russian language version included! Awesomeness overload.........waigjynb......p243tnmj !!!!!!11!!!1!! .....---

WOW - both that these games are now here, but also at the price.
I really like these games and will get them eventually, but I was expecting them to sell for $10, not be 50% off to be there.

I still recomend these games for people to play, but I am torn as to whether I should wait for a higher discount.......

sebarnolds: Now, my backlog is quite impressive and I won't buy all 3 games. Is there a best one amongst those ? What are the difference between them ?

Fenixp: They're all sort of their own thing, but generally, Shadow of Chernobyl is regarded the best one, while Call of Pripyat the most polished one. More info follows.

Shadow of Chernobyl - it's the game which started it all, and it starts off with fairly nice and open environments in which you will find a lot of NPCs to talk to, a lot of secrets to discover, it's just a joy to hop around the irradiated wasteland there. It's sort of a middle ground between Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat - it's quite quest-driven, but not as much as CoP. It's quite random and radiant, but not as quite random and radiant as Clear Sky. What SoC does the best out of the three is atmosphere - it's quite brilliant in that department. Sadly, the second half of the game is far less open and far more focused on combat - not to say it's liner, not by a long shot. Nonetheless, it's a masterpiece and needs to be played, and as far as I'm concerned, the main storyline here is the best.

Clear Sky - Clear Sky is an extremely open game, where vast majority of content is not fixed. Most of the time, objectives and missions come from the faction wars mechanic, which is a system where there are two sides, and the AI of both is trying to take over a territory. That is a pretty great idea and it's fairly well implemnted as well, sadly, Clear Sky suffers from a number of other issues, including extremely weird gunplay where you feel like most of your shots have missed.

Call of Pripyat - CoP has the best quests and the most detailed world out of the three, it has the most interesting NPCs, you name it. It's also the most polished one - but it doesn't quite get close to the atmosphere of the first game, and it cuts down significantly on the radiant content, so you won't get nearly as much non-scripted stuff happening to you, which is probably the biggest issue of the third game.
Wait... you're kidding me, right ? You are basically saying that I should buy the first one and the thrid one. However, in order to get the best price, I'd have to buy all of them !!!

Anyway, thanks a lot for the detailed explaination. Time to retreat and think about it...
Heard of these, but i've never played them. Now is my chance, much thanks GSC and gog.
Hi2All.
Back when the game originally been released, I bought it. Especially as I do like the scenario in combination with a real human tragedy that happened (not fiction) only. In parallel I feel very sorry for the people, especially for those who are still suffering. The game might help to prevent hat this tragedy will vanish from our minds.

BUT I do hate this game especially for the too quick respawning enemies! It did suck. Just to warn people that are not aware about it. Rushing into the same enemies at the same point just because you havent been there for a short while was very annoying. Or quests lead you to a territory you alreday cleaned and discovered, TADA guess whos back?

For all the people out there still playing it and buying it: have fun and I hope you will enjoy the game

cheers

JudasIscariot: Our versions are the mixed English/Russian versions i.e. if you go to a stalker camp you'll hear such phrases as "Hey bro!" in English but if you go out into the Zone you'll "Ah nu cheeki breeki i v damke" (amongst other words) in Russian/Ukrainian.
Another stupid question regarding languages. The gamecard of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl says the game comes with the following languages: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian. Do you really have the German version, or did you just paste the languages on every gamecard? I'm asking because the first game of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series isn't available in German on Steam (while Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat are available in German).

I think I'll buy the bundle anyway, although I just got SoC in the last winter sale... The extras alone are worth the price! And if SoC really is available in German it would be another big extra.
And my money is gone...
Incredible deal!
I wanna wrinte public thanks for this gog.com, realy.

The stalker series DRM free and also multilanguage , a dream become true. Thanks. ++

Wishbone: Now, I haven't actually played any of these, and I'll happily accept that they may be truly fantastic games. Still, am I the only one who feels that a base price of $20 is somewhat high for a game that's 7 years old? This is Shadow of Chernobyl I'm talking about, naturally.
Seem a little bit high but I check the Steam prices:
Shadow of Chernobyl 15,99 euro
Clear Sky 9,99 euro
Call of Pripyat. 19,99 euro

Now the prices seem right :)
FYI people, these games DO NOT have correct field-of-view when you play them in 16:9 resolutions (like 1920x1080), and none of the mods (afaik) fix this. So unless you want your screen stretched horizontally, use this:
http://www.moddb.com/mods/arsenal-overhaul/downloads/fovswitcher17

Works on all 3 games
Fantastic release, but I'll wait till SoC and CoP are 5$ each or less - CS was really not that good. I bought a lot full-price releases on GOG, but in 2014 my buying policy is to wait for heavy discounts.
Bought, that would be the 3rd time I buy these games.

You might as well buy all three of them, they're all superb :-P Still, it basically all boils down to this: If you prefer abitious, atmospheric, yet broken at many places, Shadow of Chernobyl is the pick. If you prefer little stories, questlines, and a lot of polish, Call of Pripyat is the best pick. And Clear Sky, while considered the worst, also has a lot to offer.
Why is the MP3 soundtrack 1.1GB for Shadow of Chernobyl?
