Fight the system inside the system inside the system inside the system!

Stacking, the unique multi-layered and puzzle-packed adventure from Tim Schafer's Double Fine team, is available on GOG.com, now for only $9.99. That's 33% off the regular price until Tuesday, December 4, at 10:59AM GMT.

Dystopian societies, enslaved nations, totalitarianism--gamers are no strangers to the grim, enslaved worlds. Stacking, however, presents this setting in a very unique way. The workers are being exploited by the ruthless industrialist known as The Baron. We're talking things like child labor and life ruining debts here. You are Charlie Blackmore, the youngest and smallest member of the Blackmore family. It's up to you to put an end to this proletaryat exploitation and free the other Blackmores from the greasy hands of The Baron.

Stacking is an adventure game inspired by two things--the economical breakdown of the 1920s and Russian matrioska dolls. Bizzare? You don't know the half of it! The fact that the hero of this story, Charlie, is the smallest of the dolls, allows for some very interesting mechanics. By stacking with other, larger characters you gain their abilities that will get you through the games many creative puzzles. There are also some little side-stories for you to discover, as the amazing world of stacking unfolds before your eyes, layer after layer, after layer, after layer, after layer.

See why the game was so highly praised by both media and gamers. Get Stacking, for only $9.99 this week!
Hmm, im a bit torn if i shoud get this for pc or consoles, i already have costume quest for xbox360 and it woud be nice to keep Doublefine titles on one platform.
Is there any variation between the console version and the pc version or is it basicly the same?
The PC versions usually come with the DLC for free with them. So theres definitely an incentive to purchase them on PC. (They're usually cheaper in this regard.)
Excellent!
Looks very weird... but also very interesting. Hm!

Phaidox: It's high time Klei joined our glorious GOGolution - I'd buy Shank or Mark of the Ninja in an instant.
Me too.

Wishlisted for now.
Thumbs up for EFIGS!
Can anyone explain why this game isn't in russian?

Seems like there are too many Great Depression Era cultural nuances. If it wanted to depict the same era in Russian culture/history it would have to depict Stalin's reign/purges (1930s). One might lose immersion in some settings if the language and part of the culture is completely different from the setting (for example an entirely Caucasian cast of 20+ people with English/Italian surnames speaks Japanese in 1920s New York), and this game would lose much of its flavor to this player if it were to use Russian just because the characters are Russian dolls.

Thankfully, many of the cutscenes are silent so one could make the argument that it doesn't matter as much, but the setting feels like Chicago and would feel less realistic if it was sent in Saint Petersburg (Leningrad) or Moscow, especially with all these references to events in the Great Depression that did not happen in Russia at that time.
