60 feet of metallic mayhem.

Slave Zero, a classic giant robot shooter action game set in the rioting streets of a futuristic mega-city full of mechanized enemies to smash, is available on GOG.com, for only $5.99.

Slave Zero happens 500 years in the future. Man and machine are virtually one, and the greatest megacity in the world is locked in a brutal war. Mammoth, bio-mechanical monsters tear at the sky, and the earth shakes with the full fury of a brutal battle. These are the warriors of the future, when war escalates to massive proportions, and immense power of destruction engulfs the streets. Harness the power, make a difference. Take control. Become Slave Zero! Control 60 feet of raw robotic power, make your way up the buildings that reach 7 miles into the sky, rampage through a city filled with hover cars, ground traffic, and screaming humans fleeing for their lives. Now, isn't that the most fun one can have at the helm of a titanic war machine?

If the one thing you look forward the most to in the future is the ability to control giant robots and lay havoc on the whole metropolis, you can have a taste of all the great things to come with Slave Zero, for only $5.99 on GOG.com.

FlamingFirewire: I've only tried the Dreamcast version and it felt super clunky - is the PC version much better?
avatar
Glowsquid: Not only is the control scheme much better suited to M+keyboard, but the Dreamcast version was an horrendous port with a framerate in the single digits, the entire soundtrack except the intro and ending themes cut, glitches up the wazoo, toned down enemy placement (with at least one enemy type cut from the game entirely)... etc. The PC version is so much better it's not funny.
I'm definitely going to be checking out this version of the game then :)

I gave up on the Dreamcast version after trying to play it for 10 minutes, so it'd be nice to play a proper version of this game!

JudasIscariot: Hahaha, that's what you think :D

Yes, by releasing a classic game on a Tuesday :D

fronzelneekburm: I honestly never heard of this, but I'm already digging the Cyberpunk vibe. Is this anything like Shogo?

MobiusArcher: Shogo is probably closer to Half-Life than Slave Zero, but if you like Shogo then there is a decent enough chance you will like Slave Zero. Its not very strong on the story though, and does tend to drag on some. But yea, its got a great Cyberpunk Vibe to it.
Sounds nice! Thanks for the reply, wishlisted it for now.
OMG . Thank you GOG

I guess you could say GOG is a little enigmatic.
That was unexpected. I still have the disc of this one. Good fun overall, but ends way too soon.
YAY ! Finally, the community has been heard ! (Nah just kidding, good job as always GOG :D)
I can't shake the feeling that the robot in the banner is making its best trollface impression. Perhaps, it is indeed trolling those who thought that this week's Enigmatic Hint would be Homeworld.
Never heard of this before, but looks nice . Wishlisted .
I've never played this before, wishlisted till I have money to spare to afford it. There have been so many awesome looking games coming from GOG lately, it's nice to see like the streak is continuing. :)
Yes! That's Great.

A true classic. I remember the demo of it I couldn't play back then because it was one of the demos which require an internet connection. (the Demo, I mean. The full game doesn't)

The game still looks great, bump mapping at it's finest.

I thought the same thing yesterday!
Just check the current/past weeks: Luftrausers is an all-time fav for me already, Rex Nebular is a damn fine 90's adventure game, Harvester too; having the Shadowrun Dragonfall DLC on day one was marvelous!
GOG and dlc are, for me, like bees and honey. For me dlc was actually something completely unrelated to drm-free but these guys showed me some other way. That's great!

But for me one of the biggest additions ever to appear here are the Tommo games. These are some (sometimes unknown gems) great games for any gamer who enjoys, well, gaming!

GOG has more awesome games/features (a.k.a. Linux and no regional pricing) today than ever, I guess! :)
Poor us, huh? Literally :P

So, so true.
The robot on the front page reminds me to the alien on the game page of Incoming + Incoming Forces .
