The most dangerous game?

Sir, You are Being Hunted, a procedurally-generated British horror game in which tweed-wearing robots hunt you for sport, is now on GOG.com for $16.99 (15% off the full price) until 9:59 AM GMT on 08 May 2014.

The door opens. A gentleman of the robotic persuasion stands before, puffing gently on an anachronistic pipe. In its hands, a tray: on the tray, a card with subtle off-white coloring. It's tastefully thick--it even has a watermark! On it, the simple, dreaded salutation: Sir, you are being hunted. And with that, the horror unfolds...

In Sir, You are Being Hunted, you visit a procedurally-generated world where robots in tweed hunt you whilst guzzling tea and gobbling crumpets. You, in turn, must run, must hide, and must gather together the supplies to fight back. Even once you're armed, it's hardly a sure thing that you will manage to resist the uncaring hordes of upper-crust automata and survive the deadly hunt, as the brutal AI learns from you and gets tougher as you play.

With a variety of biomes, a smattering of foes, a dash of weapons, and a soupçon of bizarre gadgetry, Sir, You are Being Hunted is, without a doubt, the oddest entry to the survival horror genre in quite some time, but the fine team at the appropriately-named Big Robot, Ltd have brought it all together to make a fantastic experience. Jolly good rummy rot!

Pick up Sir You are Being Hunted for $16.99 (which is 15% off the full price) before 9:59 AM GMT on 08 May 2014. As always, it's 100% DRM-free.
I tried this before and it seemed rather dull.

The first few fragments were fun, but after that the game lost it's charm.

Did anything change to make the game more exciting?
I'll wait until I can test whether it runs on my work PC, but glad to see this game on GOG anyway.
I really hate to be that (third) guy, but there is a big difference between :
- releasing a game not bug-free (which alpha, beta, vanilla game ever was ?) and with additional free content down the line (I won't use the dlc terminology in that case)
- opening an early access while announcing the upcoming DLC

Bottom line, very pleasant surprise to see that game make its appearance in the most gentlemanly manner.
Not my cup of tea. Will wait for something else.
Awesome to see this come out here! Will keep an eye to see if they get that one update that everyone's been talking about.
high rated
Something must be said for a game in which a disinterested third party refers to it using the following terminology:

"...very pleasant surprise to see that game make its appearance in the most gentlemanly manner."

It sounds like a winner, so please feel free to grab the code below to formulate your own opinion.

Have fun!

MJVandershonk: What's the deal with the lack of XP/vista support?

I've noticed a few new games here on GOG that don't list vista in the minimum requirements. I can understand XP support being dropped because of its age, but for this game the specs don't seem to give any indication of why.

Its not a dx10 problem since it needs Dx9 minimum
Its not a 4gb/32bit problem since it needs 2gb min

Have GOG forgot to add vista/XP to the gamecard or is it a case of those systems running the game but not officially supported by the devs?
Both Humble Store and Steam list only Windows 7 and 8, so I would say that for one reason or another, the game doesn't officially support Windows XP and Vista.

BadDecissions: I get the impression that this is in the "'Complete' game that's going to be being patched for months to come" category, even if it's no longer technically in early access; I've been interested in it for a long time now, but I think I'll put off buying until I'm confident that it's as good as it's going to get.
Same here.

I did a search about 10 minutes after posting that and found on the steam forums that a developer posted this:

"At the moment there's no intention to change the supported OS list; certainly if we do I'm afraid it's unlikely to include Windows XP since XP is itself unsupported software. That doesn't mean the game won't run at all, but we can't guarantee support for any problems yo run into."

Its definitely a case of the devs not officially supporting those OS, but I don't know why there's no official vista support since to my knowledge Microsoft still supports that OS.

Dischord: snip
The release on gog paired with the announcement of free additional content (the multiplayer if I'm right) deemed as out of fashion as worthy of praise.

Edit : and tip of the hat for your generosity, whomever the beneficiary was :)

That is the same kind of sentiment on the part of cdpr that made me sit up and take notice, and ultimately brought me here :-)

Companies/developers such as these are rare, imo, and worthy of support!

This has been co-designed by Jim Rossignol, the main non-sucky part of Rockpapershotgun. So I will buy this.

If this information could help you:
I´ve got a DTR Nvidia Optimus (3612QM & GTX 680m), so I´m able to deliver some values for the integreted Intel HD 4000! (from IvyBridge-Series)
If I switch to the Intel HD 4000 it´s possible for me to run the game in minimum settings at 640x480 with constant 60 FPS or in low Settings in 1024x768 with round 45 FPS, so if your laptop is settled around that performance of the HD 4000 you should consider buying this game.
If you aren´t sure about your hardware power, please feel free to PM me!
