Urban planner's single-player offline paradise!

SimCity™ 4 Deluxe Edition, the fan-favorite iteration in the long line of legendary urban planning simulations with a myriad of design options and factors to tweak and track, creating the ultimate sense of life-like complexity, is available 75% off on GOG.com. That's only $4.99 for the next 72 hours! Includes the Rush Hour expansion pack.

It all started 30 years ago, in 1984. An up-and-coming brilliant game designer by the name of Will Wright created an incredibly believable virtual city that astound the gamers with its level of detail and the amount of little things that were constantly happening in it. The city, though, served only the purpose of an interesting background to an action-focused title, Raid on Bungeling Bay. It would surely feel like a waste to see such a sophisticated simulation only as a "bells-and-whistles" addition. Luckily, 5 years later, Will Wright gave the gaming world the first SimCity game. The one we offer you today, the fourth--and according to many gamers, the best--part of the series is the result of almost a quarter of century worth of a concept's evolution.

In SimCity™ 4 Deluxe Edition you don't just build your city, you breathe life into it. Create a megalopolis by weaving together a tapestry of cities ranging from a bedroom community to a high tech urban center or a vacation destination to a farming village. You can create a region of interconnected cities sharing and competing for resources that are linked by a fully integrated transportation network. Use "god-like" powers to create mountain ranges, carve valleys, and lay rivers to construct the most realistic metropolis imaginable. The new simulation engine offers immediate feedback so you can react to the needs of an expanding metropolis. Now individual buildings and their lots provide you with feedback. Use the My Sim features to personalize your Sim and immediately move him or her into any area and watch them experience life around town and get instant feedback on the city's progress. Each decision has a greater impact and gives you the ability to respond more effectively. The DRM-Free Deluxe Edition offered here, comes complete with the Rush Hour expansion, for an even more in-depth urban experience!

Every game in this great series offers the player hundreds of hours of fun and easily adjustable challenge to create a sense of immersion in a living, breathing metropolis. They all come with their very own special flavor, but most gamers agree that SimCity™ 4 Deluxe Edition is the most delicious dish of them all. Grab it now, on GOG.com, for only $4.99! Remember to hurry, because the 75% release discount offer lasts for 72 hours only, that is until Sunday, June 1, at 9:59AM GMT.

htown1980: Hahahaha. I just saw this and was thought WTF? I BEEN HACKED!!!

Matruchus: Probably yes, its not strange after Ebay and Avast were hacked this week. To hack a gog account is probably a lot easier. But its probably just a database glitch.
Yeah I wasn't hacked. It was just a mistake with quotes.
Yo, you guys forgot to mark the two Sim City 4 wishlist entries as fulfilled.
Not only is a great release, but also gives us hope to see other EA titles!
Bought and will buy others, bring 'em!
While not a big SimCity fan (I prefer Pharaoh and the like) I am glad that more GOOD EA games appear here. Gives me hope for Armies of Exigo...

Uh, Armies of Exigo - still have a cd of that game somewhere. When the game was released it was mostly overlooked since it was branded as a Warcraft clone. But it did have a nice feature where you had two levels where to play on - underground and ground level and you could nicely outmanoeuvre the opponent. Certainly would like to see that one here. Thanks for mentioning it - have to go and vote for it on the community wishlist :) Totally forgot about this game.

Yep it is a Warcraft/Starcraft clone (more Starcraft than WC3 gameplay wise...) but it entertained me back in the day and today I appreciate it more, since RTS games are all but gone...

Yeah, I remember the story being similar to WC3 with a bit of a sci-fi twist with that fallen faction :) But as you said not much rts are made anymore and new ones are therefore really precious. Although this year might be a bit bether with following rts games: Etherium (Tindalos Interactive), Meridian: New World, Starcraft 2: Protoss campaign, Ultimate General Gettysburg by Darthmod and such. At the moment it does not seem that much bad anymore but will see what happens.

True, Starcraft 2 is my main target this year, although 2014 is dedicated to RPGs for me. Risen 3, Wasteland 2, Divinity: Original Sin and Pillars of Eternity.

cw8: Damn that character limit. I'm posting my full review here :)

Armies of Exigo would be awesome! I have a retail CD here... I think I will install it later and see if I get it started.

tfishell: Bluetext it's saying 19.99 on the front page again (at least for me). I'd look into fixing that.

EDIT: Nevermind discount's back, we're good. ;)
It just did that to me again too. After I reloaded the page, it went back to $4.99...

tfishell: People that are buying, please try it out and report back how the game is working.
I have played whole tutorial - over 2 hours, I was afk at times - and no crashes so far. I played it in full screen mode and modified windowed mode (based on tips from Crosmando).

Yay! Can't believe they got this game! Because my old copy is missing a disk and I lost the DRM code, I couldn't play it. So, I can't tell you how happy I am to get this DRM-Free, especially considering what happened with the new SimCity. Thanks GOG! Insta-buy.
