They say that magic of blood is the ultimate kind of magic. It pleases the mighty dark spirits of the Deadside, giving its user power that no human being should ever wield. But the human soul is easily corruptible by such temptations. There are always those, who would reach for the forbidden fruit. They will kill to taste it. They will kill again to keep it. But the Man of Shadows, the traveler between the worlds, stands guard. His destiny is to maintain balance between the Deadside and the Liveside. By the power of gruesome voodoo artifacts, he's implored to stop all strife--by any means necessary.

Shadow Man is a third-person perspective action game that will amaze you with its dark story and aesthetics. You will explore two overlapping worlds, held together by the power of eternal magic. The nonlinear gameplay will take you to numerous impressive locations with many terrifying enemies to defeat and clever puzzles to solve. If you enjoy action games with deep and unique setting, solid gameplay, and dark mood, you can't go wrong with this comic book-inspired classic!

Start your fascinating journey through the dark realms of bloody magic and madness in Shadow Man, for only $5.99 on GOG.com, today! Special bonus codes for the comic book and $5.99 discount for the official Valiant Comics t-shirt will be e-mailed to you. This special offer lasts until Tuesday, September 24, at 9:59AM GMT.
We totally should have just added a "90% off launch promo!" banner on the front page and left it at that. :P
Awesoooooome! Played the demo back in the day and loved it. Who would have thought that I'd be so happy to buy it almost fifteen years later. :D

GhostQlyph: I would shank a homeless person and hang them on someone's car to have 6 bucks right now.
Homeless people aren't good targets if you want to earn cash. They don't usually have much.

Just sayin'.
Wasn't expecting this. I remember playing on the N64. This was a fun game. Any word on how well this controls on pc?

Oh I know that. I think the pictures would sell well though.

"BREAKING: Bizarre hate crime or ritual murder? Homeless man found impaled on antenna of local man's car"
Ooh, I have fond memories of playing the N64 version back in the day, the atmosphere was so oppressive. I hope the PC version was as good or better.

JudasIscariot: Good news for our Italian and German players! The Italian and German versions feature manuals in the installer in their native language. Also, please let me know if he Italian manual scan is up to snuff as I scanned that one myself :)

mrking58: I think it is rubbish because I don't understand a word of the Italian manual
You kind of have to be Italian to understand it on the account of it being written, well, in Italian. Shocking news, I know :P

Novotnus: A very observant post.

RaggieRags: A very insightful post.
A well thought-out post.
Wow! Very nice release! Back when it came out, it was one of the very few shooters/action games that I actually finished, due to its unique atmosphere and setting.

I never expected this to be released again, due to it being tied to third-party intellectual property. Great to see that a deal could be worked out! :)

Only Italians can read Italian?

Everything I knew about language has been a life-long lie

Educational systems are evil, trying to teach children how to do things they cannot do by accident of birth alone

It's like they're MAKING FUN OF THEM for having a UNIVERSAL DISABILITY

...is it ok because it's universal?
So, I bought Shadow Man for $59.99 and am very disappointed by the steep and sudden price drop. Any chance I can get the difference refunded? I'll take store credit, too.

The PC version offers of course higher screen resolution and I think better (uncompressed) sound and music. I am not sure if the textures are better, but given the N64's storage limitations it could well be.

Same here. Didn't play much though, because I got my hands on a german version.

Strijkbout: So we can expect to see more Acclaim games in the future, good news. =)
I was just looking at Acclaim rights and they look a total mess
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acclaim_Entertainment
Shadowman is actually a licensed game, based on comics by Valiant Entertainment, somehow the rights to the game have ended up back with Valiant and they are happy to publish the game here, this seems like a mildly miraculous but isolated case, don't expect any other Acclaim stuff to come from the same source

Not unprecedented though, if you look at the Atari D&D games going back to Hasbro, makes me hopeful for the old Microprose 'Shandala' Magic: The Gathering game, although there might be technical issues with that one...

*edit* oh, the game - yeah I had it on DC, thought it seemed nice but never got very far, might have been those labyrinthine early levels that another poster mentioned...
