They say that magic of blood is the ultimate kind of magic. It pleases the mighty dark spirits of the Deadside, giving its user power that no human being should ever wield. But the human soul is easily corruptible by such temptations. There are always those, who would reach for the forbidden fruit. They will kill to taste it. They will kill again to keep it. But the Man of Shadows, the traveler between the worlds, stands guard. His destiny is to maintain balance between the Deadside and the Liveside. By the power of gruesome voodoo artifacts, he's implored to stop all strife--by any means necessary.

Shadow Man is a third-person perspective action game that will amaze you with its dark story and aesthetics. You will explore two overlapping worlds, held together by the power of eternal magic. The nonlinear gameplay will take you to numerous impressive locations with many terrifying enemies to defeat and clever puzzles to solve. If you enjoy action games with deep and unique setting, solid gameplay, and dark mood, you can't go wrong with this comic book-inspired classic!

Start your fascinating journey through the dark realms of bloody magic and madness in Shadow Man, for only $5.99 on GOG.com, today! Special bonus codes for the comic book and $5.99 discount for the official Valiant Comics t-shirt will be e-mailed to you. This special offer lasts until Tuesday, September 24, at 9:59AM GMT.

AWESOME, have the big box PC version and it can be a little funny to run having to get NOCD etc

As soon as they drop the price from the current $60 going to buy it!!! (I think someone that has added it must have been so excited at this release they added an extra 9), have the official strategy guide sitting under my desk so good to go.

When this was released it was created a few mile down the road from where I lived at Teeside

Now this is the type of stuff I like seeing land on GOG :)
Aw yee, Shadow Man is awesome. You sure gave me a scare with that price on the front page! :D

Not saying that it's too high, just saying that it doesn't (or didn't) match the price in the gamecard. You could have increased the gamecard's price instead ;)
Never played this one, but I saw a lot of commotion over this tittle.
looks good.

And I want that T-Shirt!
Perfect release! And special bonus codes for stuff.. These are the moves we'd like to see :)
Good news for our Italian and German players! The Italian and German versions feature manuals in the installer in their native language. Also, please let me know if he Italian manual scan is up to snuff as I scanned that one myself :)
Great release, GOG. I really liked this game, it's pretty unique.

short list of pros:
+amazing soundtrack (can be found as a bunch of .wav files in the installation directory in the PC version)
+interesting main character
+satisfying story
+ok writing
+really dark themes for the time
+really great and unique leveldesign in the later levels, the idea and execution of the asylum and its many functional parts is just nuts (in a creative way)
+oppressive atmosphere
+awesome interconnected overworld
+pretty much no handholding at all, just a huge world you need to explore with little overt direction, but all the necessary information (except the overworld map which you will definitely need) can be found in the game
+quite a long game

and some cons:
-really awful leveldesign in the early levels (way too labyrinthine and confusing due to looking the same everywhere, the wastelands especially are a terrible introduction to the game)
-a little too much to collect (it was the Donkey Kong 64 era and it shows)
-a little too much backtracking, often for little rewards
-far too repetitive and somewhat clunky combat
-to get most of the dialogue you have to constantly return to Nettie and the Snake, especially in the beginning. But most players will miss most of it since they will continue exploring and pushing forward. Also there is pretty much no new dialoge for the last two thirds of the game. This is really badly balanced and makes it harder to connect to the characters.

Sixty dollars?? ಠ_ಠ

This have to be the most expensive game in their library atm, lol.
I know the front-page suffers from 'delete this shit' syndrome, so..... screencapped and saved!

On a more serious note, nice to have this classic here. I remember this being a very long game, afair.
Awesome! It was a while since I got this happy for a release.
I would shank a homeless person and hang them on someone's car to have 6 bucks right now.
This oughta put some eyes out.

I think it is rubbish because I don't understand a word of the Italian manual
So we can expect to see more Acclaim games in the future, good news. =)
