We're ridin' dirty, we're ridin' dirty...

Screamer 4X4, a rugged off-road racing game where 4WD is king, is veering off the the well-traveled track and heading out into the wild for a clean $5.99 only on GOG.com!

YEEEHAAAAAW! We're finally going out where we can let our hair down and get dirty! There ain't nothing like driving in low gear with your differential locked as you try to bypass those dadgum trees on the second curve of what could be loosely termed as a racetrack. Shoot, son, this isn't another one of those "oh, he made ANOTHER left turn" racing games! You gotta get your hands dirty as you race through painstakingly modeled terrain and realistic 4WD (4 wheel drive for those not in the know) handling. Choose from a variety of racing modes--Free Drive, Championship, or Trophy--and play solo or against your friends in LAN multiplayer.

Get the hell off the tarmac and get your dirt on in Screamer 4X4, for only $5.99 now on GOG.com!

Ahahahahahaha.... gets me every time :D
Yeah, that's definitely one of the funniest ones, though I think I can kind of understand why they've decided to translate it like that. When the movie appeared in Poland, it was not yet established as a classic, and naming the movie simply "Terminator" might have been confusing, as "terminator" in Polish means "an apprentice" (it is a homonym of the English term, and the spelling is also identical).

But even so, they screwed up majorly :).

What, no pirates!
Did anyone else also notice a strange tendency of including references to songs in GOG release threads recently? (Ridin' Dirty', Misty Mountain Hop, California Dreamin' etc.). I wonder if that might have anything to do with the fact that G-Doc is away... :P

It totally has EVEYTHING to do with G-Doc being on vacation. Since I am the one writing the news posts I am trying to see just how much I can get away with :D

(I also like music so there's that tendency plus I can't HELP but use an appropriate song title for some games....)
Now this is a game that's:
1. Old
2. Unique
3. Fun

Yep, you hit the bull's eye this time GOG!
Wishlisted.

I kind of already knew you took over from G-Doc, wanted to check if you will rise to the bait :P

Well, I for one certainly do appreciate your efforts - the one with Myst-y Mountain Hop is definitely my favourite, it totally cracked me up.
No Emergency 911 then =P , still a cool game with good Mobygame reviews, wishlisted for now.
Hoping for the 4x4 Evo games find their way to GOG as well.
Excellent release, wishlisted for now as I have already spent far too much on the Insomnia promo.
Screamer 4x4?! OH YEAH!!!!!!!!!

I wish to draw your attention to the fact that this game is FREAKING AWESOME.

If you like offroad driving sims, you absolutely need to check it out.

If you like driving games in general, you should check it out.

If you don't like driving games... well, this isn't like the others. You might be surprised.

The name *is* an odd one -- this game has virtually nothing in common with any of the other Screamer games, all of which are arcade racers around fixed tracks. Screamer 4x4 is actually a pretty solid simulation of drive-anywhere offroad competition.

For you Screamer fans, that might not sound like your cup of tea, but let me just say this: I bought 4x4 back in the day in a package with Screamer Rally on the basis of having loved Screamer 2. I bought it primarily to get my hands on Rally, but I was absolutely blown away by 4x4 which turned out to be, unquestionably, the star of the show. Yes it's different, but it's GOOD!

You get a mixture of absolute freedom to navigate some amazing terrain any way you wish (in the free-drive modes), combined with (when you're racing) the need to drive with great precision through various courses in those same crazy terrains.

The simple fact is that other driving games don't have tracks like this, and you probably have no idea what you've been missing out on.

Screamer 4x4 is a serious driving game that lets you drive the way you want, where you want -- and it's a blast.

Cool! Seems like a good old game, although Screamer Rally does have more votes so I hope Mastertronic is able to publish that too. (Did this game not have a soundtrack? I couldn't find any music on YouTube.)

It's a continuing shame though that GOG hasn't seen any recent releases from big publishers, except Squeenix and Hitman Contracts.

Very nice. There can't possibly be enough oldschool racing games on GOG. :)

Ouch. Let me be that guy; should we expect it to be removed after some years?
