Mission Briefing:
It is the year 1943. You need to put together a group of elite soldiers, penetrate the enemy infrastructure, obtain top-secret information, and blow everything the hell up. The complete assignment involves finishing two Allied and Axis campaigns, utilizing six separate player classes, and testing large number of maps, weapons, and items. Even though you may believe you’ve already completed such missions earlier, I can guarantee that S2: Silent Storm Gold Edition is something special in the tactical TBS genre: huge variety of gameplay possibilities with excellent 3D graphics and great physics make it one of the best team strategies ever.

Requirements:
Ability to think, click, and react required. Some basic military expertise beneficial but not required. If no previous training in this genre has been received, you will be trained.

Equipment:
An advanced Silent Storm engine, with completely destroyable environment and ragdoll physics, was created specifically to assist you on this mission. In addition to that you will receive the Silent Storm - Sentinels expansion, the soundtrack, manual, avatars, and , finally, wallpapers.

Extra Information:
Our intelligence reports show that the game has received a "E3 2003 Best of Show" award in the tactical genre. Later critic reviews and fan-reception proved that S2: Silent Storm is not a game that should be taken lightly. Awesome! Even with all its flaws, S² is still an amazingly fun game. And Sentinels is pretty hard to get (in fact, I've never played it before)...

Best of all, this game contains Nazi's that say "OUR GOOSE IS COOKED"!

This will be bought for sure, together with Hammer & Sickle. The name "Nival" brings me back good memories, they've made good games: Rage of Mages, Silent Storm, Blitzkrieg. Oh the days I've spent playing the demo of the first Rage of Mages game...

Wow, what a great release! And taczillabr I've seen your previous post - when I saw this release I've immediately thought about it :-)

I have one question though: does the Gold edition include the expansion? Because it doesn't say so on the game page, like in all other cases.

It is once again (like with Tropico 3) quite sloppy not to mention that on the gamepage.
Not only does it answer the question before it's asked, it's also another selling point.
Of course that's not your fault, but I had to get it off my chest. :P

I'll agree with you there. It should be on the game page. While that info is available freely in the release post, months from now, the release post will be history and the question will no doubt come up again...

The Silent Storm series brings you two complete games that both provide with you a wealth of turn-based combat against the backdrop of World War II and beyond. It’s the year 1943 and you must lead a group of operatives as they assault against the enemy, wreak havoc on their operations, and find out what new power threatens both sides. After the dust settles from the war’s end, you must find and destroy the remnants of the organization known as “Thor’s Hammer.”
Emphasis mine. Those are the parts that do declare the expansion as part of this release, plus the fact that the "Gold" release is the one that had the expansion with it as well. So at least for me, the gamepage does contain the info that the expansion is there.
I don't say that it couldn't be better put, but it is there.

Understood. I think the argument is that the word "Sentinels" should be clearly displayed on the game page. If you haven't played Sentinels, the section that you highlighted really wouldn't provide a lot of clarity.

Don't eat while checking GOG for any new releases and finding among them one of your all-time favourite PC games (one that you simply could not find anywhere all legit and stuff) to avoid choking.

Yeah, I couldn't wait for a sale either, have been waiting to play this again for several years (have cd version that won't run on my Windows 7 machine) - have been happily playing again for 2 days now - thank you GOG !!
