Here's to new beginnings!

Risen, a robust fantasy action-RPG from the Piranha Bytes studio, the developer behind the classic Gothic games, is now available 60% off on GOG.com. That's only $3.99 for the next 48 hours to start a new epic adventure!

It all begins on a mysterious volcanic island. The heavy tremors on the island bode ill for its inhabitants. Ancient temples have risen from the ground recently, bizarre creatures are terrorizing the area. Fear and terror is spreading among the population. Is it the end of all hope? A group of powerful men who call themselves "The Inquisitors" have taken it upon themselves to put an end to these events. They send an expedition to this remote island, but a storm takes hold of the ship and destroys it at sea. It was foretold that a hero will come, and the fate played its marked cards to set the events in motion. As if by a miracle, you survive the shipwreck and are stranded on the volcanic island alone. You find yourself amidst a chaos of rebellion, tyranny, and mystic rituals. It is up to you to decide to which side the pendulum of fate will swing.

In the epic world of Risen, filled with mysterious earthquakes, fearsome monsters, and unimaginable treasures, forge your path with the sword, learn the art of staff fighting, or become a powerful mage. Delve into a gritty, raw, and atmospheric fantasy world in which every action has a consequence. The game comes from the German Piranha Bytes studio, the team who brought us all three classic iterations in the fan-favorite Gothic Series. Do you want to see how the creators of one of the most acclaimed RPGs could do with the power of the modern gaming machines? Now you can, and with the 48-hour special launch offer you'll be amazed by the value you get for just $3.99 of your money.

With the addition of Risen to our DRM-Free catalog, we welcome a new publisher, Deep Silver, onboard GOG.com! There's no better way to start a new beautiful friendship, than with an epic RPG, especially when it comes with a 60% launch discount, that will be available until Saturday, April 5, at 9:59AM GMT.
Instabought... I hope to see more Deep Silver games here soon, especially Metro 2033 & Last Light :)
I bought Risen when it came out years back and found it a solid experience. Regrettably less exciting than Gothic or Gothic 2, which I still enjoy replaying, but completely OK in my book.

Trilarion: And it's coming from $20 on, at least that's the wording in the article. It could mean regional prices. If they make the $1=1€ crap I swear I will take back all the good words I said about them.
As far as I can see there won't be regional pricing for Risen 2. The article says there will be differnt versions though. Base game for $19.99, Gold version (for unknown price) and Gold upgrade.

Cavalary: Hmm... So what's the character limit on reviews (and why is there one)? Tried to submit the one I wrote back when I played it, minus the parts about TAGES, which obviously no longer apply here, and some speculation about Risen 2, and then also slashed the introduction after it first told me it's too long, but still no go.

Didn't have any for games released on here before, so first time I try to post one...
See http://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/increase_character_limit_on_reviews and the threads linked in its comments.

Maybe the Gold version will be $27.99 and include German voiceovers! ;)
Very awesome and instantly bought. Can't wait for Risen 2 next week as I have not played it yet. Still waiting on Titan Quest though! Damn that Enigmatic hint!
Deep Silver! I'm guessing their involvement with inXile and Wasteland 2 nudged them towards releasing their games here then?

Sign me up for the Secret Files games, Lost Horizon and Cursed Mountain.
Bought to support Deep Silver, here's hoping for the Metro series.
FI - NA - LYYYY!

Risen has come to GOG! YEEEEEEEEEES!!!!!

Instabuy - do you even have to ask this?

ShadowWulfe: Oh gawd I forgot! We could totally use some dino crisis rts here!

Edit: For everyone else: apparently Deep Silver has ParaWorld. Would love to see it back here and actually have a chance to finish it properly.
Will love to get Paraworld here too, especially with that add-on...

bansama: Actually, Sacred 2 probably won't happen. This is because Deep Silver are convinced they don't have the distribution rights for Japan. So when they re-released it on Steam a while back in a fixed form, it was regionally restricted for us T_T
Interesting. Can you tell me if you can access any of these GamersGate links?
Sacred 2 Gold
Sacred 2 Fallen Angel

I would buy it..but it was so many times a freebie with mags that I've at last 5 of them lying around.
Another game I would gladly have bought on GOG instead of Steam had I any idea that it would be coming to GOG. However, I already have this on Steam and I don't yet have the money to buy a second copy. (

I just got from GamersGate over the Christmas sales, have it installed and only just started the beginning, and now it gets released on GoG.... Still, I feel a bit compelled to get the game again, to help welcome Deep Silver here.

Unfortunately not a good question to ask me as my GamersGate account has been tagged as a US one. That means Japanese regional restrictions don't apply to me on GamersGate. So I can't tell you if it's regionally restricted on GamersGate or not.

Funny thing is, Sacred 2 is the reason I have a US tagged account. Not due to availability, but due to testing their download servers a few years back.
