Post-nuclear gangland.

Redline, an insane classic post-apocalyptic action game combining first-person shooter and off-road driving game is available on GOG.com for only $5.99.

It's 2066 and the world is a different place. While the privileged insiders live in fertile domed cities, the rest of us fight for survival in the wastelands. Rival gangs battle for supremacy, turf control and valuable resources. In order for a young man to succeed he must make the right choices about his future. That's why you want to join the Company. It's on you, rookie. We think you've got the skills, but do you have the guts to go up against the worst maniacs from the Lepers, the Templars, and the Red Sixers gangs? We'll give you a piece, a rig, and let you try to prove yourself. No guarantees, but if you pull this off you might have what it takes to be one of us…

Redline challenges you to take on 12 insane missions in your quest to become gang warlord. Prove your skills in the arenas, eliminate rival gang members, and destroy all who oppose you. It features both vehicular and on-foot combat--jump in and out of heavily armed cars, trucks, vans, motorcycles, and turrets anytime during gameplay. Blast rival gangs with over 40 unique weapons, car jack your opponents' ride or climb up to a stationary cannon to blow away unsuspecting punks. On GOG.com, the game comes with a full soundtrack in both high-quality MP3 and FLAC format.

The future might look grim and brutal, but there's no reason not to have fun while besting its many dangers in Redline, for only $5.99 on GOG.com.
I don't know what it is but... it's... beautiful. *_*

Niggles: Anyone care to do a little review of this game for those who havent got a clue about it?
Mini review: think of it that you are Snake Plisken in this game which pretty much sums it up. =P
Although the game is old now so I don't expect many would care, but gameplay isn't as smooth as lets say Quake 2, as this game seems to have sticky doorways and such and movement seem a bit accellerated.
Can't tell more I'm afraid as I'm just starting to play myself but I like it so far.

Don't forget to marvel at the transforming weapon :D My favorite is the melee, where your gun turns into a giant hacksaw xD
I don't know of this game but if the vehicular and on foot combat are both decent or better I'm interested.

damien: Amazing, amazing release! Now time to bring NAM and maybe Across the Rhine!
avatar
hunvagy: Across the Rhine, PAW and Task Force 1942 would all be welcome, I agree. But I do hope you don't mean that NAM that's based on the Build engine, that was an abomination.
that's exactly what I mean! Bring it on! :)

OT but I can't pass this up. XD

Well, I suppose this has to be an insta-buy for me.

I fondly recall playing the heck out of the demo back when I was young and still subscribed to PC Gamer magazine. As I recall, it was a half-hearted mix of driving and FPS, but with a heaping helping of weird and oodles of gibs. I always wanted to see where the game went and never had a chance to buy it when it was new (things like Quake 2 got in the way of that).

Time to lock, load, and kumbaya.

Gawd no, I rather have both Witchaven games and Shatner's Tekwar from Capstone, then NAM :p Though I guess at least it's not Winthrop's Mansion, right?

Yeah *I* guessed right before clicking! I LOVE Kids in the Hall - always thought they were sadly overlooked, over here at any rate...
Every time I mention 'Kid in the Hall' people assume I'm talking about a Saved by the Bell of Sweet Valley High style trashy program - its sad
I proceed to crush their heads!

Glad to see I'm not the only one who hadn't heard of it before GOG decided to bring it back. Sounds fab so I grabbed it this morning. That's on top of three of the Battle games, plus wishlisted Blackwell and can download the rest of Broken Sword 5. It's a very busy morning on GOG for me.
