Free Mars, or die trying!

Red Faction, a critically acclaimed and extremely revolutionary *wink* first-person shooter with destructible terrain and a close-range hard Sci-Fi setting, is available 70% off on GOG.com, as a part of our Red Faction 1+2 Bundle deal. That's only $2.99 for the first 72 hours!

You are Parker, a weary miner who works for the corrupt Ultor Corporation. You reside on Mars, sometime in the future, and when a plague spreads through the mining community, some of the Ultor employees uncover a massive conspiracy. Thus ensues a battle by a group of lowly workers, provoked to uprise by your own actions and to expose the deadly experiments Ultor has unleashed onto its work force. History will judge you. Make sure your faction wins, so its your people who get to write the history books.

Red Faction was a very big leap forward in the FPS genre. It introduced many new technical features such as location-based damage system, real-time skeletal deformation, advanced physics simulation, destructible environment and more. The unprecedented (at the time) interaction with the environment creates a very strong feeling of immersion that is very impressive even by today's standards. With an engaging story to tell, a unique set of features such as location-based damage system, real-time skeletal deformation, operational land, sea, and air vehicles, advanced physics simulation, and destructible environment, it's safe to say the game well deserved all the critical acclaim it got.

Play your part in the history of Mars in Red Faction, for only $2.99 on GOG.com. The special 70% off release bundle offer lasts only until Friday, February 14, at 10:59AM GMT. The games are also available separately, 60% off.

GOG.com: for only $2.99 on GOG.com. The special 70% off release offer lasts only until thursday, February 13, at 10:59AM GMT.
70% off or 60% off? Or is the 70% if you get both games?
YES! So this means we've got a version of Red Faction that actually runs well on modern machines? Goodbye, disc copy!
I want Summoner! - http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/summoner
nice release well done guys.
Cool!
Is this the Red vs. Blue game from the hint then?
Good to see Nordic bring their THQ acquisitions here - Darksiders next? :-D
Oh My Red Faction. It is one those games I played when I was a kid.

The main complaint is how cheap that railgun is. One hit deaths
I never got to play this one. Maybe now I will.
Nice. Good to see the old THQ back catalogue making its way here, albeit through a publisher that's already on board.

Red Faction 1 & 2 are already available DRM-free though (Gamersgate, retail). Will we be seeing DRM-free versions of Red Faction: Guerrilla and Red Faction: Armageddon?

And as someone else mentioned, Darksiders 1 & 2?

Saints Row was taken over by Deep Silver, so no chance of a DRM-free re-release there, and Homefront has been pulled from general distribution. Dawn of War is under the Warhammer licence, WWE under the WWE licence. Looking back through THQ's back catalogue, the amount of useless shit there makes it apparent why they went under - there really is nothing else from the past six years that isn't under a limited licence that is worth mentioning.

Yes, yes it is. Red being the Red Faction representing the Red Planet, and Ultor Corporation representing Earth, the Blue Planet ;-)
Interesting franchise to be honest.

RF1: Very good first half, very bad and boring second half. Destruction is what sells it, unfortunately underused.
RF2: Good but very short console style FPS (Always felt like the 1st was made for pc, second for ps2). Very basic.
RF: Guerilla: open world but the difficulty is all over the place if i remember correctly, making it a bit frustrating.
RF4 (can't remember the title at this moment). IMO the most fun but it's a very lineair 3rd person shooter that has little or nothing to do with the first 3.

If you've never played them they might be worth the purchase.

(EDIT: after reading one of the previous posts: I had no idea the old ones were difficult to get running from the Retail discs, will have to look into that)
