Primordia, a robotic point-and-click adventure game with enthralling story and pixelated graphics, is now available on GOG.com, for only $8.99! That's 10% off, this week only!

Horatio is a devoted scholar, a philosopher, a hermit, and an able constructor. On top of that--he's a robot. He spends most of his time trying to repair the "Unniic", a long defunct airship, that also serves as the permanent shelter for Horatio. The only company he's got is his snarky sidekick, Crispin, the floating orb-bot put together from pieces of junk--or spare parts, as Crispin insists--salvaged in the rusty wasteland. Both of them lead a relatively peaceful existence in the post-apocalyptic desert, until one day a rogue war-droid raids the Unniic and steals its power core. Our heroes have no other option but to chase after it. A dangerous task, yes, but Horatio has faith that The Gospel of Man will guide them on their path. So begins a journey into the uncertain future, that will also reveal the ominous past.

Primordia is a masterfully crafted point-and-click adventure game with an exceptional premise and setting. The vision of the post-apocalyptic world, where man is not more than a myth passed on by one generation of robots and automatons to another, is something that will haunt your dreams. In Primordia you witness the world from the perspective of an artificial being "living" in a civilization of machines, and that allowed the developers to create a very unique storyline, that seems very alien and familiar at the same time. The puzzles are logical and creative, often making use of the game world's distinctive features. An eye-catching art-style combines the qualities of hand-drawn graphics with those of old-school pixel-art. Even though the post-apocalyptic future may seem dark and the questions that we face during our mission are profound, the game still manages to sneak in some quality humor and pop-culture references. Horatio's lines--serious or not--make an even bigger impression, as the character is voiced by Logan Cunningham (this voice)!

Don't let the rust get the better of you. Discover the fate of the humankind and the origins of homo sapiens mechanicus in Primordia, for only $8.99, until Wednesday, December 12, at 10:59AM GMT.

SimonG: Was Grimrock in any bundle? I swear it was, but I fail to find any info on the fast.
No

keeveek: Even if you release two oldies tomorrow, it's still 3 : 2 for indies :P

SirPrimalform: Isn't 2 oldies all we used to expect anyway?
The number of classics released per week seems to have been reduced to one.
Two weeks ago, we got Imperialism. Last week: Screamer 2.

Not in, as I don't use Steam, but thanks and +1 for your generosity, demongamesuk!

Also, a little promotion in the Giveaways' Directory, for more visibility:

I'm not complaining, if that's what you're implying... As a matter of fact, I've long been a huge proponent of GOG's venture into the "brand new releases" area.
The fact remains that the number of classic game releases has lately decreased by half. That's all I've written, please do not try to read anything else into it.

Actually, it hasn't. There were weeks with 1 classic (pre 2000 game), there were weeks with 2, there were weeks with 0. Then GOG.com decided to move on to newer games and again, there are weeks with 2, 1 or 0 pre 2000 games.
If you wish to make such a statement, take a larger time sample, not one week (or two). You'll see they keep an almost constant classic release rate.

johnki: If only saying this game is incredible did it justice. It is a great game from start to finish. It's got one of the most powerful, lasting stories I've seen in a game recently. And on top of that, it's got fantastic environments, arguably better voice acting, and some of the most logical puzzles I've seen in adventure games in a while. There were a few puzzles that took some time, but they made sense in the end.

Right about now, I should probably give you an obligatory link and tell you to read our review on the 9th or something but I'd be lying if I said that you shouldn't probably just go play the game. :)
I already pre-ordered the game and I'm downloading the complete version now, but just out of curiosity, how long was the game for you ? 10h-ish ?

Theta_Sigma: I want this!!! I so hope WEG got gog codes for purchasers of the disc version!! :D This game looks so friggin epic!!!!

There were some wild speculations going on this summer in several forums that Legend of Grimrock would be included in HIB6, but that was just wishful thinking and they were proven wrong.

IIRC, the guys from Almost Human gave out Steam keys to everyone who bought directly from their website though, in addition to their DRM-free installer. Not to those who bought the game from GOG though, so it was a choice between a DRM-free installer from GOG or a DRM-free installer from Almost Human AND a Steam key. GOG got the short end of the stick in this case, but the developer's offer was pretty great. Anyway, you probably know that already, :)

Yeah, games sold by the Humble Store app usually give out Steam keys. I bought it twice for that reason, here and from the devs.

G-Doc: Not to mention it all feels like one long TOOL video to me.
If I wasn't already sold on buying the game, this alone would have been enough to convince me.

Yeah, but he was complaining even if they released 2 oldies. :P
I can't quote from the phone but to whoever asked, I'd estimate that it was 5 or 6 hours.
Hey everyone! I reviewed Primordia for the website I am an editor at. Check it out! I absolutely loved it.
