A space oddity you won't soon forget.

Pid, a gorgeous platforming adventure that tells a story of a little boy stranded on a mysterious planet, is now available on GOG.com for only $9.99.

Hush, hush. Don't wake up the kid. He looks so adorable in his little hat and that tiny backpack. Poor thing. There's so many wicked things around, that will scare him, bully him, and won't let him go home. This forsaken planet of ours is no place for little boys. He must have been displaced, somehow. Lost. Oh, how hard it will be for him to find his way around the forgotten cities, abandoned plants, and giant machines. Let's not disturb him for now. Try not to make that squeaky noise with your rusty old joints. Let's just leave silently and let him sleep a bit longer. Hush, hush. He's going to have such a hard time when he wakes up.

When the veteran game makers that brought us Bionic Commando: Rearmed decided to form a new studio and create a fresh, original platformer with unique mechanics, artstyle, and music, Pid happened. It's an amazing adventure that takes you to one of the most endearing gameworlds ever created. Sporting innovative mechanics that allow you to influence your surroundings in ways never before seen in a 2D platformer, it's bound to become a worthwhile entry in the genre's hall of fame. Think about such games as Limbo, Machinarium, and Shadow Complex--Pid feels and looks a little bit like each of them, but in a unique and non-derivative way. The game supports cooperative multiplayer, so you can enjoy its eccentric beauty with a friend--or maybe even your very special Player 2.

Are you ready for a strange adventure in the dreamy landscapes of the forgotten planet? Take your protein pills, put your helmet on, and grab Pid for only $9.99--Windows and Mac!

nanorider426: Indeed. Bring out the good old games.

Kunovski: come on, guys, this game came out just today, and it's even Wednesday so not a regular release :)
If Thursday brings another old game, I won't complain. Today isn't a normal release day. :)
This game does look really nice. Too bad my lappie wouldn't be able to handle it. *sniff*

Oh well, back to my humongous backlog. ;)
Just watched the trailer and wow this looks like a fun game .

I going to buy it when I get paid tomorrow
This looks and sounds a lot like Rochard. Looks good though. Beautiful artwork.

Kunovski: ...it's better now, isn't it?
It's not just the pure number that counts. I am not buying more games just because there are more games released here and one Baldurs Gate is worth the releases of last week and this week together probably. I think it's better than one year before and approximately equal to two years before.

Maybe we will count it as normal release day from now on. Let's see what comes out next wednesday.

Shoot, I have no problem with that if we're getting about 2 old games a week. I'd welcome 2 new games + 2 old games a week.
games looks great, not my cup of tea, but thanks for releasing a mac version.

If anyone is interested, Total Biscuit did to a WTF is of the game a little while ago.

Love platformers.

If i had not just bought Alan Wake and the american nightmare 'expansion', i would have grabbed Pid.

Also kudos to Recoil Games for supporting linux, and making Rochard available DRM free at their store.

Hope Rochard will be made available here, some time in the future.

It does look good. Not really sure it's my kind of thing. But still, a nice release all the same.

whodares2: I hope I was the only one who instantly thought of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease when I saw the title to this one. Talk about a Halloween scare. Time to read the game card and see what this is really about.
SO why is it called Pid again?
The image used on the front page of this reminds me of Happy Appy.

Looks like an interesting game, added to wishlist for later.
From the game page:

GOG.com: Notice: The game fully supports gamepads.
Fully supports gamepads or just 360/xinput ones? That line implies directinput support too, but so many games nowadays don't bother with it that I have to be a bit suspicious.

thebes: Just because I haven't messed with platforms since Blood Money and Barbarian and such.
Just because I'm such a nitpicker, I'm going to point out that neither Blood Money, nor Barbarian, are platformers.

I'm not saying that you need to buy more games :) but isn't it better to have a wider choice? I personally didn't buy a game here for quite a long time... but I still come here and am happy how the catalogue grows.

also, pid had it's release date set to yesterday (on their website), so it really wasn't GOG's call to release it on Wednesday, it was pid's developers who wanted it to be released yesterday...
