A conflict on a celestial scale!

[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/nexus_the_jupiter_incident/]Nexus: The Jupiter Incident, a story-driven real-time tactical game that puts a fleet of heavily armed spacecrafts at your command, is available on GOG.com for only $9.99!

You are Marcus Cromwell, a young and ambitious captain of a legendary Stiletto spacecraft. As your career begins, a devastating war over precious resources that could grant stellar dominion ensues on the edge of the solar system. Your tactical skill and battle expertise might prove to be the tipping point of the entire conflict that future generations would call “The Jupiter Incident”.

Nexus is a TFS--which stands for a Tactical Fleet Simulation according to the game’s developers--and that seems to be the most adequate of possible descriptions. In over 30 complex missions you will command a fleet of varied spacecrafts in a fully 3D environment, choosing your own tactics to push your forces towards the victory. And between battles you will manage your flotilla--upgrade, enhance and repair your ships with the resources awarded after a successful battle.

Nexus: The Jupiter Incident is a great tactical challenge with astounding visuals that will satisfy strategy gamers and space-opera fans alike, now on GOG.com for only $9.99
Well, I've installed it, turned all the dials to '11', and I gotta say for an 8-year old game, it's still very pretty. I've played through the first tutorial mission and I can already tell this is going to be one of those games I'm absolutely no good at. Ah well, the scenery is very nice while I try and improve by blowing up a little less each time....

Don't worry, you can always pause it and take your time planning your next step.

Pausing the game and studying all the ship models was how I made the first tutorial mission last about an hour.... :) But sooner or later I have to unpause the game and watch all my plans unravel in a sea of exploding pixels....
Wow, this was a nice surprise! I had this game a while back, and wasn't able to spend nearly as much time on it as I wanted. It's on the wishlist now!

NOW BRING US HOMEWORLD!!!

Tolya: Seriously, but this game. It is difficult, challenging and hideously fun. And there are huge EXPLOSIONS in it.

gameon: That's more reason for me not to buy. I can't stand hard games.
Same here. When a game is hard, it becomes work, not entertainment for me.

I'm not one of them either.

Yeah, I wouldn't touch that game with a 10 foot pole. I am unable to understand the draw there but to each their own I guess.

No, that's someone else's job here at GOG :D. I just send in suggestions for punishment :D
I'm a little bit butthurt and depressed, are we going to get something actually old to buy, like DOS-era, next Tuesday?

There's a great chance you'll love our weekend promo this week. Plenty of DOS-era, pixelated goodness to go around :-)
